Pi$$ed ... who should I go after?

New pair of 509 goggles as a christmas gift - unwrapped and placed them in the soft 509 storage bag and put them in a new under hood bag in a pro. Went to use them yesterday for the first time (they have never been worn) and discovered that the lens was destroyed!

So .... is the Polaris bag to blame or is the 509 storage bag to blame? Who should I go after?

By far 509s have the worst lenses I've ever experienced. I've put visible scratches in them with a clean microfiber cloth.

If the goggles were stored in the supplied 509 goggle storage bag and were still in the goggle bag upon removal how is that his fault? If the goggles cannot be stored in the supplied storage bag, that should be instructed.

I'm not for "going after" 509. But a kind, well written email stating what happen will more than likely get you a free replacement lens.

have to stop and look at the whole picture... you should allways keep check on your gear...using it or not! is it a factory pro bag or aftermarket...was it mounted in the correct spot ect ect was it a day where the sled ran hotter due to weather or snow conditions that got under hood temps higher...
just see too many peeps putting the blame on others actions.. like the old one is the coffee not hot in the cup that you spilled on yourself??

not saying the items are crap just saying its 3 months down the road and you now check on the gear!

Ducky:

I'm only stating the facts I've seen and experienced with the now, 6th lens on my 509 sinister goggles.

Don't get so defensive for 509.
Why don't you state your personal experience with your 509s (if you own a pair) if not, then why are posting in their defense?

Instead of going after someone why don't you give Tim a call at 509 or email him at dealers@509.com and explain to him what happened, you might be surprised at the outcome. I have had nothing but good luck with 509, they have replaced my lens 3 times so far. Just be honest and upfront and let him know your story.

Feel free to send us pictures of the issue as well, it will always be something that is required when dealing with an issue like this. Destroyed means a million different things to a million different people. Maybe the goggles came out of the 509 bag, maybe the protective coating is still on the lenses etc....a ton of scenarios here. BTW we see people 25% of the time that call with lens issues that have not taken the protective film off, yes seems like an obvious thing to do, but you would be surprised. We would like to see the damage, the bag, and we can help you out from there. If you cannot get a hold of 509, feel free to shoot us an email and we can try and expedite this for you.

I ride around with my spy goggles in my Polaris goggle bag without a protective bag over them and they don't have a scratch in them. Something doesn't seem right if they scratched that easy, especially in a protective bag.
