Our Dog Was Murdered....

Anyone who would own a German shepard, Rottweiller, Pittbull, Doberman etc. Should be shot along with the worthless sons a *****es they call dogs. Those type of dogs have absolutly no purpose in this world, end of story!

the world needs more uneducated people like you in the world. I bet that would make it a better place to live:mad:

Asshat!!

A black man murders a store owner and steals whatever, now we should just incarcerate or shoot all men of color??

Or one better, one reckless snowmobiler rides in a closed area, now close all the surrounding to ALL snomobilers

that makes perfect sense

I think that sence our dog wasnt on there property there dog had no reason to attack our dog much less kill it.:brokenheart:

Sorry for your loss.
....but you don't say who's property this attack took place on. If it was your property, then I'd sure as hell be going after them for damages......but if it was someone elses property (or public property), I think you should let it go.

Dino, sorry to hear about your dog. You have lived in Mont long enough to know the three s rule shoot shovel and shut up. Tell neighbors to keep dog home or you wont have a dog much longer.....

But if you go as far as killing a dog, do it the right way, quick. Poison is BS and I would not wish that death upon anybody.

Exactly!!! No dog deserves a death like that! Owners are responsible for their dog's actions just as parents are responsible for the actions of their underage children

Sorry about your dog, Tack

I have two goldens and would take a bullet for them, but I still feel something needs to be done about your neighbors dog. An unprovoked attack like that just shows that german shep needs to be dealt with. It doesn't even matter if your dog was provoking the german (I know you said it wasn't). How could that german shep at anywhere from 50-90lbs be afraid of a 15lb dust ruffle. It just shows the overly aggresive nature of that particular dog. That could have easily been a child that was making too much noise or somehow threatening the german shep and that outcome would be unthinkable.

Bottom line the dog should be put down.

A good majority of pet owners are not responsible enough to have them..............even worse they have kids :(

A judo point on an arrow is very effective.. however aim for the guts.. that way the dog goes home and dies.. not that i know ..

Sorry to hear about your hound..

And to those that say people with rots and pits should be shot.. well thats just wrong... they are sum of the smartest dogs around.. and great for home protection.. however people that dont train their dogs properly, and let them run loose.. now those people should be taken out and beat with a fiberglass rod

Bad deal.:(

To those of you wanting to poison the dog, or inflict a suffering death........
You my friends are cowards!

If indeed the dog needs to be put down, allow the owner the opportunity to do it.
If you have to take matters into your own hands, tell the neighbor what you are gonna do, and how you are gonna do it.

To poison it, just so you don't have to "get your hands dirty" is as chickenchit as it gets.

Grow up & grow a pair!

If you have no other pets, throw some meatballs out into your yard packed full of De-Con. That is not cowardly that is just doing something on your property. And if the dog happens to come around and eat the meatballs oh well, maybe the owner should have kept the dog on his own property tied up or fenced in.

Shooting the dog after the point could land you in jail if not prison. Not a smart idea. Contact the authorities.

Question... Was your dog on your property or was it just not on theirs? Not that the other dog has a right to do what it did, but this matters.

No.
If your intent is to kill it, then be a man & kill it.

to the people that want to poison an animal, you are a douche and should maybe enjoy a bowl of anti-freeze yourself:mad:

sorry about your hound Tach.

I love it when people try to defend dangerous breeds.

Insurers Reluctant to Insure Dangerous Dog Breeds
Insurance Companies Assess Risk the Old Fashion Way
Springfield, IL - The trend of insurance companies refusing to offer homeowner policies to owners of "dangerous" breeds is occurring nationwide. There is a simple reason for this: Insurance companies have to pay if the dog injures a person.

Depending upon the severity of the attack, they may pay 30,000 to 75,000 to 300,000 dollars and beyond. This is partly due to the fact that dog attacks often inflict serious facial injury. The cost of reconstructive surgery is astronomical and often, multiple surgeries over many years are required to mend the damage.

Insurance companies make the logical distinction that pit bulls, rottweilers and several other breeds have a "higher risk of inflicting greater damage." It's no different than accessing the injury risk of a motorcyclist vs. a motorist. The former has much higher premiums because when motorcyclists are involved in accidents, they tend to suffer greater injury.
Pit bull and rottweiler advocates say this is unfair. They say, "All dogs should be created equal." They say, "Singling out a breed is akin to discrimination."
One has to wonder how much longer the larger public is willing to buy this nonsense. Owners of breeds like chiuauas and beagles need to ask themselves a question: "Should I pay higher premiums because someone down the street chooses to own a pit bull?" By disallowing insurance companies to properly asses risk and place higher premiums into the hands they are due, all dog owners will pay the price.

Common dangerous dog breeds
When addressing the topic of "dangerous dogs", it is important to remember that no breed is guaranteed to be 100% bite-free or attack-free.

In 2000, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported that 25 breeds of dogs were involved in 238 fatal dog bites from 1979-1998. More than 50% of the deaths for which the breed was known were caused by Pit Bull type dogs and Rottweilers.*

Due to the high cost of dog bite liability claims, some insurance companies have blacklisted certain breeds and are refusing to provide homeowners insurance to those who own these dog breeds. According to the Insurance Information Institute, liability claims have increased from $250 million in 1996 to $310 million in 2001.

"Blacklisted" breeds may include:
Pit Bulls Alaskan Malamutes
Rottweilers Akitas
Chow Chows American Staffordshire Terriers
Doberman Pinschers Boxers
German Shepherds Great Danes
Siberian Huskies Wolf-hybrids
Perro de Presa Canarios.
The Presa Canario breed came to the forefront when Diane Whipple was attacked and killed outside the door of her California apartment.
Any dog that has any of the above breeds in their lineage.

If a dog has a history of violent behavior, it is determined to be a dangerous dog no matter what its pedigree. Once a determination has been made that the dog is dangerous, the laws of the community governing dangerous dogs must be applied.

i enjoy having the option to go out and buy a dog of whatever kind i want. HOWEVER........i often think would it be so terrible if we had to take a test first? regardless of breed, the dog will be a direct result of its experiences and most of those experiences come from the owner.

if your dog is on my property you will get 2 warnings. 3rd time the dog will be dead and i will bring it back to your porch. my animals are well trained and stay on my property.

after all the year is 2008 and ya just cant do things like we used to eh?

I can't comment on the rest but you are WAY OFF BASE on Shepherds. We had 3 as I grew up. They are one of the best dogs you can have and cannot be lumped in with the others you mentioned. I have little sisters who are twins that crawled all over ours and rode it like a pony along with their little friends and our cousins. Neighbors came over and she was a lap dog. All 3 were. Dogs are as they are raised. Show them love and they return it. Show them hate and violence and you get that back. If a stranger came onto the farm they would come from wherever they were at and hang around the little kids and lazily keep an eye on things. Since we've been married and had kids we've had 2 red heeler mixes and they are a little more agressive with strangers and very protective of our kids. Never had any problems but we attribute that to how we treat them. 1 of them took after 2 people in 10 years and they had it coming. That same little heeler took out a wandering lab that got to close to our first toddler too. Good dogs come from good owners. They're no different than children. Little kids & good dogs are the best judges of character. Period.

AGREED. I love Germans, some of my best dogs. I trained them well, and they would only be agressive to people they didnt know, or i was not friendly to. They stayed home all the time, and even got between me and a black bear while camping.....

Dogs are as they are raised- couldn't agree more. We had 2 black labs at one time. First was raised by us from pup. Great dog, couldn't be more gentle, but at the same time, if you weren't supposed to be around or he didn't know you, it was game on back the F away.

2nd lab we took in as a stray and it ran with a bunch of Rez dogs(poor raising if there ever was one). He was the meanest SOB you ever saw and got a whooping more times then you could count. Ended up he ran off and didn't get looked for.

They're no different than children. Little kids & good dogs are the best judges of character. Period.-well said Switch, I've said that for years and now that I'm raising kids I see the truth in it even more.

As for the poisoning, yes I mentioned anti-freeze, but if you look I followed with a comment on it not being so nice and just shooting the damn thing. Anti-freeze is for cats;)
