People like me????? My dog is in my control at all times.I don't let my cat run free and **** in peope gardens.
Besides, You don't know me!
But I know you!
Your the kind of scum bag that condones posioning animals (PETS) and have done it yourself.
End of discussion.
People like you dont want to take responibility for their pets and cops or animal control dont want to do their job. Believe it or not the "Pound" DESTROYS pets every day. The only difference between those and the one this guy is talking about is that its fenced in.;)

Sad part is I have thought about that,

Since I have called this in so many times and the dog ended up Sick or Dead, and they took the dog to the vet and were told it was poisoned and reported it, would probably come back to me

Yeah but reardless, it would still be a pretty f**ked up thing to do anyways. I hope it doesn't come down to that. Good luck, tough situation.

I have been in your same situation. Lived next door to this Siberian Husky that used to HOWL day and night. Yeah thats right not bark but Howl like a wolf. Thing didnt need a reason It would do it non stop day or night. The dog was a very nice dog, very friendly. I went over to see what its problem was several times. Its whole problem was it was bored being tied up on a 10 foot chain all day. The owner was some POS drugged out loser that was barely ever home and when he was he was stoned and or drunk.

Anyway this went on for about 2 months. I had called the cops around 10 times, animal control would come look at the dog for about half an hour write some **** down and then leave. They said they talked to the owner and bla bla this that and the other thing, but they would never really do anything about it.

One day when I was in a particularly poor mood to begin with the dog woke me up at 2:30 am howling again. So I called the cops, got the dispatch lady and I told her. LOOK. I have called you 10 PLUS times about this dog, and I KNOW for a fact at least 5 other people have as well, and all you guys ever do is give me the run around. I am going to call you EVERY SINGLE TIME THIS DOG HOWLS if something isnt done about this and then I am going to call the mayor and go before city council and tell them that you refuse to do your jobs as the law states. ( Almost all cities have some sort of a noise ordinance involving animals).

To which their tune substantially changed, they said no no dont do that come down file a WRITTEN report explaining all the incidents. Get some of your neighbors do so also, and something will be done. So the next day I went in with all the neighbors (5) of them all filed written reports.

The neighbor was issued a court summons for the complaint. He was ordered to get rid of the dog by the court, along with about 500 dollars in fines, but didn't do so and started keeping the dog inside all the time. His land lord found out and a week later he was evicted. Problem solved.

For some reason you seem like your unwilling to get your neighbors involved in this, for whatever reason I dont know why. If this bothers you there is a pretty good chance that it bothers them just as much if not more. Actually go talk to them and see what they have to say, numbers joined in a cause work wonders. You just have to be willing to do something about it.

I know one thing. In my Grandpa's age the dog would have been gone in the night and you would have never seen it again. Things sure have changed.

If they are peoples pets then why are they in MY yard......repeatedly. If you dont have pets that run around then you have nothing to worry about. When my kids cant play in my yard because of some elses dogs, and the owner or the cops refuse to do anything about it....it gets handled.

Best to deal with your problem through proper authorities or you will end up in trouble.
Cacsrx1 would be put in jail for poisoning animals if anyone could prove he killed their pet.Stuff like that is in the news everyday.Everyone knows that harming an animal is treated more severely almost than hurting a human. When the owner gets enough fines he will remedy the problem.

AHH no sorry not going to jail, the cops told me to shoot this perticular animal. We have a city ordinace in place for threatning animals.:D

This guy wasnt so lucky.
Corey McClellan owned Jessie, the two year old black lab, as well as two additional dogs. There are no public records indicating that complaints had ever been lodged against Jessie, nor the other pets that share his home.
One day last summer, Corey was horrified to discover his beloved pet Jessie weak and disoriented, foam falling from her mouth. He rushed his dog to the vet, where she was euthanized. The vet confirmed that the dog had in fact been poisoned.
Upon returning home Corey discovered a half gallon container of insecticide in his back yard. Suspicious of his neighbor, he proceeded to rummage through his trash the following day, discovering remains of the original container that held the poison used on his dog.
McClellan then called police regarding the incident. When confronted by officers, Maenke confessed to the crime.
"He said that he was fed up with the dog being a nuisance in the neighborhood, barking incessantly," said Detective Jerry Robertson of the Bloomington Police Department.
Police indicate that it's fairly common for them to receive calls of dispute between neighbors over a dog. However, in this case neither Maenke, nor any other neighbors, had ever registered a complaint about Jessie or the other two dogs living with McClellan.
Maenke has been charged under a new felony anti-animal cruelty law. If convicted he faces up to two years in prison.

Everyone's perception on this subject is different.
To most of us reading this, we are thinking.......aww poor dog.
To you with the problem, the dog isn't cute or poor, it's a pain in the butt!

My opinion is that whatever action you decide to take, be a man & communicate it to the owner.
I would like to see you tell the owner that you feel the dog is bored & you'd like to spend some time with it & train some more acceptable behavior into the dog. It ain't that hard. A TIRED DOG IS A GOOD DOG!!!!!!
But if you decide you've had enough & you're gonna suff him out, be a man & tell the owner what you're plans are. If you don't, you are a coward. Can you live with that?

Sounds like making your rounds in the neighborhood is the right thing to do. If everyone is in agreement then take it down town.

As for a bark collar. They work great! I have a German short hair that likes to bark when the neighbors are in their back yard. (otherwise he is quit as a mouse). So I stopped by Pet-smart and got the collar. Only took a couple days for him to get the idea. As it is now if he starts to act up at all I just put it on for a week or so. (no batteries needed, he knows how it works).

Again these things work great. But they aren't going to help the neighbors dog.

Good luck and like others said don't do anything stupid.

Wow thats cool, How did you stubble across that and its even my town, I beleive I have seen that officer around.

Not sure if it makes a difference but I live in the County and just barely, the county line is less than a 1/2 block away. they owner of this animal and all the surrounding neighbors are in the county also.

I`ll try that. I would of tried to get ahold of the owner as difficult as it might have been , but had to start reporting this problem cause the owner obviously knows there animal barks constantly whether they are home or not, but when they would not be home on a friday or saturday night till way late or early morning and be gone all weekend on a holiday, like memorial day or 4th july etc. they would not take the animal with them they would just leave it outside to constantly bark over and over, etc... for days straight and that showed me absolutely no regard to neighbor courtesy and seen others over yelling to the dog to shutup and so one I could see others were haveing the same problem, the neighbor who lives directly behind them next to the boardering fence between the dogs area and there front yard , That neighbors grandson who is very seldom over couldn`t get any time with his dog to play fetch cause the dog would not barking at them and chase him up an down the fence. from one end to the other kinda trying to get to the little dog that was fetching the boys stick, so the boys got discouraged and went back in the house, the grandfather comes back out of the house to yell at the dog to shut-up and all it did was bark louder since it was getting yelled at, and through all this the owners were inside and did nothin about it, but had a BBQ later that night. with people over that was sad to watch. So I decided not to talk to them cause I would of just been so pissed I would of got no where. That when I tried to bring the police into the matter and obviously got no results either. anyway, thanks for the advice.

Sorry so many got pissed at each other about how they would handle the situation, but this is not a problem with dogs coming into my yard, or garbage or my kids can`t play in my yard or a dog running around unleashed or supervised, this is about a dog barking fenced in a yard.
Sure the kennel destroys dogs everyday, But plain and simple, We Cannot, its illegal. they don`t go to prison or county jail for cruelty to animals and killing them. Or poisoning them, to each there own but, That is wrong. I have had problems with stray cats bunchs of them, I borrowed my Mom`s cat trap and caught them and took them over to a lumberyard across the river and released them, there they can at least live on mice or something, Not shoot them like others neighbors have. My animals are like family to me and I wouldn`t shoot them when I was pissed at them, Lol.

Darren

You've got the right attitude,
I'm sure you will handle it in a proper manner. (as opposed to some of the nutcases who have responded here:confused:)

No relation to your situation, but a good read anyway.

Keep us updated, don't feel that because it's a weekend you can't call to complain. Like mentioned above, I would call in every time the thing barked until they actually did something about it, document every time you called and the response you got (or lack of) and take that to the county commish or whoever the "leader" is of your area.

Get up at 3:30 in the morning and go pound on their door till they answer. Tell them "Your dog is barking and I was afraid there was something wrong, I'm just making sure everything is okay" Do this at random times twice a night for a week and they will do something about it. Smile and be polite, even when they get pissed. I've done this twice and it worked both times. (If the dog has you awake anyway, it's an antertaining way to spend 15 minutes)

To funny but would work great.

I find that a bb to the *** works great. Just don't pump it more then once.
Don't want to hurt the dog just give him a nice little stinger.
