My Little brother got an MIP & a DUI last night out of state.

My wife got a DUI when she was 17 and got off good (for the situation) she says to get him signed up for AA meetings, MAD classes and siciatric evaluation BEFORE you ever go to court and the judge will know he wants go get straightened out. She also says you can just talk to a lawyer over the phone and not get charged for advice. With no lawyer, she got off with 1 year probation (and only talked to her officer once) and 20hrs of community service. They just talked to the lawyer thats what he told her to do and it worked. Nate asked for advice so I gave him what I know, I dont want anyone jumping on me for saying something they didnt wanna here. P.S. SAWYER did you have a few b4 typing your last message? ha ha spelling and spacing is a little lean, better put bigger jets in.

I talked to the arresting officer about the incident. Said he was pretty plowed. Go figure. As for who bought him the beer, bro said girlfriends brother purchased the alcohol. They all went out on the town  I wont be giving him a ride home after all. He's gonna stay at his grandpa's place in Belle. We all thought he was on vacation. So worked out for me.

As for laughing all the way back to Gillette  well, my older brother and myself have both done stupid sh*t. I had 2 assault and batteries before 18 and I had to do alot of BS to get those thrown out. Older brother is just really good at wrecking vehicles, 6 to be exact. Just one of his life lessons. Little bro could have stayed home and got plowed with us instead of going off into another state. That's his choice. I imagine he will laugh about it soon, because I laugh about it now.

I also happen to think i'm a damn good role model :) I had that kid shooting tighter groups at a 800 yards at the age of 13 than most professional shooters could ever achieve in there lifetime and he's well on his way in becomming a machinist. We are just a rowdy group, but for anyone to call us bad role models  well then i'd say you dont know us at all :face-icon-small-dis

I dont know what they will do to him, community service would be good. I had 180 hours of community service to do and I had to log 40 hours of anger management when I received my offenses. That alone along with felony offense keeps me from hauling off and hitting someone because they asked for it.

But you can bet your azz he's gonna pay for this one, noone to bail him out and he wont be driving for awhile. It will get put into perspective when they sentence him to something and take away his license

i'll know more on Monday. But he isnt in the clinker anymore :D

One question I have Nate is where the hell are your parents in all this? And why do they let their 17 year old son go out of state to chase girls? You have not mentioned them once, only your other brother and your Grandfather once.

Uh oh.

Question, if YOU, any of you, were driving drunk (I have in the past no doubt) and you killed someone such as someone's daughter, son, wife, hubby, grandchild etc. how would you feel about that ?
Personally, it would wreck my life or what is left of it. If someone driving drunk killed one of my grand daughters, have no doubt, I would kill them in a heart beat AND go to jail.

Driving drunk is probably something most of us have done at one time in our lives. Most of us are probably lucky we never got caught or hurt someone bad. I think everyone deserves a chance but another DUI and I say he should lose his license FOREVER.......................

Like Crap and yes. But allot of people don't think about it.....until it happens.

I have...it would kill me to do that to some one else.

I have...I have driven intoxicated, it would kill me to do that to some one else.

....... no excuses, no reason. There are always options......

yes i did. read it again today and couldn't understand half of it:)

to calculate the true BAC the barometric pressure of where he blew times the Bac divided the barometric pressure of sea level: say .100bac X 630mmhg(at attitude) / attitude at sea level 760mmhg) =.828bac

Or if he took a Blood make sure they expand the resolution out on the GCFID to show the spike of ethanol /acetaldehyde/acetyl-co efficient-m to get true BAC results.

if the claim from his next drunk driving escapade was coming out of your pockets, how much would you charge him for insurance?

How many DUIs are repeats? Not many most learn. Insurance sticks it to ya on a DUI....I'm driving a 700 dollar car with liability only because of one. My wife with 4 accidents is cheaper then me with a DUI that isn't gonna be repeated.

I love how the "Redneck Nation" here on Snowest treats DUI's like the rest of the population treats Masters Degrees.

i.e. "Yeah, I got mine in 1982 and really put a lot of time into it..., my wife's brothers dog's friend has one too..."

The expertise here in managing felonies is impressive.

;-0

MD.

Felonies? bub they are a gross misdameanor....and I haven't read one post where someone was proud of the fact that they got one.

You mean proud like this?

Nate,

Let's see, your sporting a mullet,
your kid brother gets a duey & a minor,
is your family trying trying to get a reality show deal with some second rate cable channel?

Sorry, had to!:p

Good luck to your brother!

BTW....Here in SD we wear those DUI's as a badge of honor!

Yes - that's kind of the spirit of what I was calling out.

I see that they are a misdemeanor, and in repeat and egregious instances treated as a Felony. I think you got my point and proved it.

How did I prove your point?

X-Rated,

I feel that you made my point by basically illustrating that a DUI is not a big deal - just a measly misdemeanor which I feel is about the consensus I see on this 4m most of the time. If you were simply correcting me, I apologize for the mis-fire.

was merely going for a correction...

Absolutley right. Why do we need those ol nasty Police people. I think we should just get rid of them all because afterall laws are not made to be enforced. How dare someone think that anyone should not have the right to go out and get plowed and then jump behind the wheel of a 4000 pound projectile. Shame on them.
Nate now is the best time to teach your little brother what being a man is all about.
But judging by your post of about buying beers for anyone who will meet you at the bar there makes me think that you and your little brother will be laughing about it all the way back to Gillette. I hope not. JMHO
Forgot to ask. Who bought him the beer???????

I have to agree, hel it's my right to go out get drunk and screw up someone else's life. Some of you should stop thinking about yourselves and think of the impact it has on others.

As for laughing all the way back to Gillette well, my older brother and myself have both done stupid sh*t. I had 2 assault and batteries before 18 and I had to do alot of BS to get those thrown out. Sorry Nate, but the comment that your brother should have stayed home and gotten plowed with you is, how should I say this? ROLE MODEL. Just make sure you know your rights.

im gonna comment on this thread for sake of arguement....

i drove home wasted one night. i blacked out at the wheel and woke up in a ditch...luckily it was on a road thats empty that time of night

i will never do it again.

the fact that i could have easily killed someone (residential neighborhood) was enough to make me sick, especially someone just going for a walk or something.

I will walk miles home before i drive in that state again....
