MDS ramps thumbs UP

Pawpaw Steve told me about your crash today ouch!Thats gonna hurt for longer than you might want it to.

Allright, some more info????

Is there a verdict on these? Wort it to switch from one heel-heavy type of weights to these?

Thanks!

How is the mds compared to heelclicker 2 speed? Anyone here who has tested both?
I have ran MDS and Heelclicker this season. They seem pretty close on start to mid shift out aggressiveness. You cannot adjust that part of the MDS, not that you really need to.... IMHO, I don't feel like the MDS has the top end "push" that the HC's have, in other words, I feel the HC's build more track speed on the big end, albeit not by much. (I think it would be hard for any weight to beat the HC's in that dept....) But the MDS are way more forgiving in the backshift dept. The MDS are more forgiving in changing conditions and to dial in, also Steve provides excellent support.

Right now, the HC's are sitting on the shelf..... but what do I know.... this was all on a Cat.... :)

How do the MDS weights compare to the MTX? If you already have the MTX weights, is it worth it to buy the MDS? Thanks, Jesse.

Ok. I have hc on my sled now and i noticed that the adjustment on the heel can be a good to have. But the backshift isnt that good, like you said. I think i wil stay with the hc this season:)

spider rub

Anyone noticed signs of the MDS weights rubbing or coming in contact with the spider behind the rollers? I have wear on the tips of my weights. I have ground the tips of my weights. I have yet to try them to see if this cures the rubbing? This is on a flatland 121" pro-r I'm at 76.2 grams and still over reving but lost some back-shift. Went to 75.5 gram better back shift but over reving. Plan on trying 120-340 spring to see if that help my rpms. My last set up was shift plate, drilled bolt center, and hex bolt tip.

Yip, if you gear down, that will help on the back shift. I like the HC Black spring as his has a higher finish rate. Have not ever been satisfied with any other spring when using the HCs.

The MDS do "self clearance" themselves on the spider in my case (P85)

I'm having a heck of a time trying to get to 8-8100! Running the MDS with the hex head and washer in the tip, I hit 8350 on the trail and run 8200 solid in the hills. I added the hollow button head to the mid and would run 8250 on the trail and 8000 on the hill, this was untill the track got loaded hard on a steep hill it would pull down to 7600.

I am realy confused, not sure if it's the weights making the sled RPM so speratic or something else.. The MDS sure do make wicked up/back shift though.

What kind of gear ratio would you recomend? I have a Switchback Assault 800 2011 with a back country 38/365-44mm. My elevation is 1000-1700ft.

Anyone know what the weights with both hex head screws in with a washer under both will weigh in total?

Running this and a 120/340, shift rpm seems alright on playback but I'm suspecting they are to low and my take-off has kind of a bog even with the PAR 12,5 head.

60/40, 46 helix and 140-240 spring in secondary, 0-3000ft

Ok so I took the washers out and this pulled harder. Saw higher rpms, up in the 8250-8350 area. Spring snow so not really able to get a good consistent load, kept rising the nose, but no DET from overrev and worked good.

Had a hard time fastening those hex bolts without the washer underneath, are they only supposed to be used with washers??

You can run them without washers. Just make sure there is enough blue thread lock on them...
