MCX 180 Update

GSR, I got one of the first kits and the valve clips to the aluminum guard right beside the air hose, I've had no problems with mine plugging. I just installed the same kit on my buddies sled and he has a different attachment for the valve, it has a bracket with two holes in it to install it "somewhere". I wound up putting it above and just left of the air hose and no problems with it plugging up either. I don't know about your sled but we get such an ice buildup under the tunnel that you can't get snow up top to plug the valve up! No lag in the turbo, the power if always there right when you need it. Sidehilling is a breeze with all the power right there when you need it! Sherm

Sly, you were right about that vent tube, it blows, dosen't suck! And, it actually blows quite a bit, hence the condensation in that vent pipe and all the gukkkkk inside the sled. So, I'm going to try a shorter pipe, closer to the vent and see if that'll reduce some of the condensation from building up and maybe the bottle trick will still work.........Sherm

yeah of the sled, from the back with the plastics or sides. Also do think a a trail tank will fit with this kit?

I'm not sure if the trail tank will fit or not, seems to be lots of guys have them on though. The MCX turbo lines run under the stock tank so I'm only assuming the trail tank would also have a space under it, seeing as the exhaust is under the tank as well. Couldn't get my pics to load, PM me with a email addy and I'll send you some.........Sherm

Currently installing the 180 kit on a 2010 Nytro. The book leaves alot to be desired. Whats the best way to line up the pipe for welding. Should you tack it first, then remove and weld. It looks a little tight to get my hands in there to tack it?

Yup, put the entire thing together, including the exhaust pipe. Once everything is tightened up, then tack the pipe. I've done two like this and it's fit perfect both times. It is a little tight but, put a little tape around the edges of the tunnel so you don't keep grounding your rod out when your sticking it in the tunnel from the top. A new rod for each side and your good to go! Sherm

Great thread goin here sherm,,lots of good info,,can't wait till days of and i get to try mine out for the first time on a turbo

Your gonna love it! My buddy still has the stock 153 on his machine we just "converted" but after yesterday I think he'll go longer now. That and we just converted a buddy Polaris rider to switch over, picking up his Nytro this week! Its a disease! Sherm

Just wrapping up the install. Definitely a challenging task. You have to pay attention to all the "little" things. Like proper routing of the oil lines and wires, tacking the muffler in the right place etc. One minor note, when your wrestling with the plenum, take the rubber hose pieces and install first on the throttle bodies, then take the rad shroud off or move it up slightly and then install the plenum. Make sure you take your time and ask lots of questions. Just need to clutch and install the boost gauge and i'm ready for testing.:face-icon-small-hap

Just got done installing my 180 kit today with lots ( almost all) help from
HYFLYER and Wayne. We had some trouble with the kit because the of the lack of info, but got it done. We still have to do the tuning part of it, burt Drew knows what deal is. I'm really looking forward to riding this thing.

thanks again Drew

Its all good, had alot of fun installing it. The instructions were vague but its all good and then end project is sick! I will admit its the first time having a audience while installing a system before, made for alot of BS and sh!t talking thats for sure but kept it very entertaining.

Yeah there was a lot of that, but at least those guys aren't taking s h i t bout the nytro anymore :).. well at least everyone but Joey. You did fine with those guys Drew. Even though you eat more then any other 100lbs. Somalian in the world the build went quickly . thanks again Drew
