you guys be careful with all this snow. had a close call sunday. was on a slope I shouldn't have been on and it cut loose about 125 yards wide and 2-3' deep. ran out in front of it and stopped at the edge of a 20' drop hoping it would stop before it got to me(terrain trap, I know)....luckily it stopped pretty much at my feet. 10 minutes later looking things over an even bigger natural slide started on the other side of the canyon and ran out through a creek bottom. was big enough to bust off 6" dia trees like it was nuthin. needless to say we got the hell out of there.

Damn that was close! Glad your OK!

Hayden, I saw your FB post the other day.
Yeah, be careful. It's REALLY nasty out there.

I had a guy from the West Cent. MT Avy center in my class the other day...they went out mid week (LAST week) and did a class up over in Brushy Fork/Spruce Creek under Beaver Ridge.

He said it was REALLY spooky and eerie. They heard more "whoomf" sounds that day than they all collectively had ever heard previous in their entire lives. They witness SEVERAL and natural slides that day. When they came out, they saw evidence of others.

From the sounds of it, I can bet they were never so happy to get back to their vehicles at the end of the day.

And that was a week ago he told me this. There has been more rain AND 3 more feet of snow since then.

Glad your ok . It's crazy bad out there.
My daughter and the group she was with were in a slid Saturday too.buried 2 people and 4 sleds no one hurt fortunately .
I worry us being hurt in the back country will be another excuse they use to shut us out of it. Another good reason to be careful.

Scary, scary stuff Scott, thank you for posting. Meadow mashing for me this weekend.

Trying to get out and enjoy this snow safely and it feels like everyone is out of town or broke-down this weekend.

Anyone looking for a low angle buddy on Sunday should hit me up. I am in MSLA!

Well fellas, I'm sad to say that after 18 years I am no longer in the sled/atv/side by side business. It's been great getting to know everyone as customers as well as friends, and I wouldn't know many of you without my employment by Bliss Cycle (now Pure Bliss), Kurt's Polaris, and Hamilton Polaris....Without a doubt, the best friends that I have made have been since my move to this side of the mountains away from the flat lands of Montana haha. It's been great getting to know you all, and I look forward to us all hanging out and riding more as friends now that I'm no longer in the industry. I'll be back in Missoula, and working at Karl Tyler as a service advisor starting the 10th of March. Excited for the new opportunity, but sad to leave the industry I love and that has meant so much to me, but getting burned out being around the machines all day makes it tough to get excited to get out on the weekends....enough with the babble....cheers (where the hell is the beer icon?) and stay in touch....

Lucas
