2.41 is my ideal gearing on this chassis with my 3" paddles.
I ride from 5000-8000 feet.
2.25 would be GREAT for your lower elevations at home, but you'll have to clutch for it.
You NEED to re-clutch if you re-gear in order to maximize the new upshift and characteristics created by more power to the track.
Anyone should understand that on sleds that clutching is done to create desired performance at the specific gearing. New gearing will be optimal with clutching changes.
Just as with engine mods, pipe, head, porting, etc. You need to clutch to adjust and achieve optimal performance.
Gearing down will likely see higher revs. You'll have to clutch it out if they rev too high.
Gearing down will likely see you reaching peak revs faster and you'll hold it easier. If you don't then your upshift and backshift will not be optimal with the springs that you were using for that OTHER gearing.
