TOO DAMN COLD for this old man.We rode out of west the last 4 days. Today and yesterday we left at 9 am and it was -23. Fricken cold
I dunno.-19 here this morning lol. Cold snap broke more snow on the way! I’ll be an expert at digging out sleds lol!
I found a way to stay warm. Walking. My lynx is still on mountain. Couldn't siphon. My buddy's boost was almost out. Walked off hill to him. Told him not come get me. Rode double and just made it.I dunno.
For me, its just not much fun riding when its THAT COLD.
DAMN SON.I found a way to stay warm. Walking. My lynx is still on mountain. Couldn't siphon. My buddy's boost was almost out. Walked off hill to him. Told him not come get me. Rode double and just made it.
We were about to drop into another hole and i looked down and had two bars and told my buddy they were orange. Pulled it up on flat ground and nothing changed so we headed back. Then it went up to three bars so i thought I'm fine. Played for a minute on the way and it went to one instantly. We weren't halfway back and it went to none and was flashing and beeping. What worried me was we were going to get caught on top the mountain where there is just wind and no firewood. Still had to get through that and off 3 chutes before it would be legitimate to walk and still be 5 or 6 miles. Top is probably 9500 feet. I just started down 2nd chute and was laying it on its side to kick it over to miss a rock i bounced over earlier. When i hung out and gas it it died and i went over bars. Wouldn't restart. We got lucky. There was a old cabin with a stove that we could've got to. Went by it on way out. Would've had to make that decision earlier. Way better to be lucky than good any day.DAMN SON.
Thats almost what happened to me back on DEC 6th.
So much deep snow I wasn't paying attention to the fuel gauge till the RED light came on.
CRAWLED that sled back to the trailer!
that can certainly make an otherwise average day plenty exciting. We were about to drop into another hole and i looked down and had two bars and told my buddy they were orange. I got back a couple days ago. The base that's layed down is the most I have seen in alot of years. Last week's storm dumped more to the north.Any New reports on IP snow conditions? Got a group head that direction on Thursday for 3 days. From what I've seen watching the weather reports and snotel, it's been a couple weeks since they got a good dump but looks to be dropping maybe 8-12" from yesterday thru Wed. Hoping there's enough to challenge a few green horns that we have tagging along this year!
heading back up first thing in the morning myself..Thanks for the update. Pointing the truck and trailer west first thing tomorrow morning!
