Island Park Snow Conditions for 22-23 season.

Avalanche report on FB says that around Bozeman and Big Sky there's been 8"-13" over the last few days, but I only see a couple inches on a few snotels, nothing on most of them
ya, its strange right now
Blackbear is reporting less snow today than yesterday
we peaked at 82" on the 19th and have been losing ever since.
Today we are at 75" 3 hours ago.
Snow should be falling up there right now though...

The storm is supposed to roll in at 5:00 this afternoon.
Then its snow continuously all day Friday and Saturday.

One of my employees skis Big Sky a lot during the week when we're slow. He just told me that Lone Peak got 16" up top yesterday with only 6% moisture content, and another 10-12" of a little more dense snow today. Tomorrow is supposed to drop another 10"-20" up there

17 inches in the last week in the bridgers too. Bad news is of course a high of 7-8 tomorrow and sub zero Sunday up here. Cold smoke. Be careful out there saw a gnarly wreck and rescue in west this week and cold temps make things more dangerous! Of course the avalanche report for the Madison range and bridgers is very bad . So stay out of the steeps!!

Big Sky made out last night!
We were gonna ride Buck Creek tomorrow in Big Sky but there's a poker ride going on there so we'll probably go further south to Taylor's Fork/Carrot Basin area. We used to ride Cabin and Teepee creeks a lot too but the West Yellowstone tourist crowd has discovered them so they're always super busy and tracked up.

Just checked a few snotels in the Bridgers and up Hyalite, they've all gotten 2-2.5 feet the last couple days. The one up Hyalite got 20" just within the last 24 hours. Wish the guy I'm riding with didn't live in Big Sky or I'd change plans and ride Olsen Creek today.

Wow! His Olsen for avalanche terrain? We’re headed up to Taylor’s just out of familiarity but that’s way closer lol! Did battle ridge last weekend but it needed snow . Good now but steeper in there and we’re not all that experienced lol. It’s going to be deep today woot woot!! Stay sate sorry for the hijack!

I've actually never been up there but I have a few friends that ride it occasionally, son I've been wanting to go. We did Taylor's today and it was amazing everywhere we went. Parking lot was the busiest I've ever seen it, and people were parking like idiots blocking other people in, I barely had room to squeeze past a few of them to get out.

Oh man what a day! We ended up going up the bridgers but oh my god this poor town is just so flipping busy now. Took us an hour to get to battle ridge and the lot was full people parked on HIGHWAY!!! Train of cars going to bridger that was just insane. People stuck everywhere people unloading sleds on highway. It was a crazy ****e show. We went to fairy lake and the road wasn’t plowed and we got scared. We went back to battle ridge and said ok guess we park on the road too. So I’ll be honest iam new and iam pretty terrible and today was my first deep day really and it was gnarly lol. Unfortunately we got stuck alot and got tired but we went for it. I’d say the snow was waist to chest deep in places and two feet everywhere. I stuck my sled like a statue straight up and regretted it lol. Saw some guys just ripping. There was one car at Olsen but my buddy was a bit nervous since we hadn’t been there. Would be epic and will be for awhile. Was just crazy. I won’t lie it’s hard to learn but keep trying lol. Had vision of being smooth and man I had a few rodeos lol. So much snow lol. If you can handle the temps maybe get in there tomorrow . A good rider will have powder all day. Me ..stuck lol
