IS it a bad thing when the motor makes a funny noise and seizes ???

Ron,dropping the limiter won't help the problem,it's the way it rolls over on the front to the downhill side like every IQ RMK does as well as going into a corner.Dropping the limiter will also lead to trenching more which isn't what I would want!

Sorry thought you liked the light front end feel & severe weight transfer like the 07 Doo's-dropping the limiter gets you that feel.
I waited a few days to respond til I had a chance to ride my sled again. You get rid of the roll on the IQ by changing out the front track shock. The Walkers are great except they are soft giving one a great ride but with the roll you mention. A stiffer front track shock doesn't change the ride quality much. The 08 Walkers are better than the 07's but an easy fix is putting a shock with a spring back on or adding aftermarket pts. mentioned above so that you can change pressure on the Walkers.
I put a Fox Zero on my IQ & have no roll in corners or going downhill-problem solved. Now I can tweak the sleds "balance" while I ride by adjusting the spring tension rather than try to adjust air pressure.
If you don't want to spend $250 on a Zero a low cost fix would be to buy a takeoff shock off any 07-08 RMK-$60-$80. I bought the Dragon expecting a dependable sled that works in the powder. Now that I changed the shocks, the added bonus is the greatest handling sled ever. It feels light as a feather & after an 80 mile ride my a$$ isn't dragging.
Not suggesting you end your love affair with the XP-maybe don't need to hate the Dragon because it isn't set up to your liking.

I do like a light front end feel of the Doo and weight transfer just not the poor off throttle handling of the Dragon.Sounds like maybe a fix,I'd like to try one setup like that to see how it feels.............still wouldn't fix our local Poo Dealers sucking!

new motor made the day at cooke no problems,:face-icon-small-coo, i rode it like a rental,:D, no more easy break in for me,,this was the first ever sled i didnt hammer on from the first day and its the only motor i have ever blown in 30 years of riding..

I really wish you would quite giving our local dealers so much grief. They are working so hard this time of year keeping us on the snow. They are people!! People that are trying to earn an honest living. They don't need a person with a personal vendeta playing nasty games with their livelyhood.

No personal vendeta at all,I actually like the guys and as I said on my other thread,no more of it from me,life is to short !

Well T/A - You ain't Alone

:(

My 154 seized this morning, locked up tight and belched out a big puff of black and grey smoke. Was riding about 7000' on the trail up to the big pow, was 15-20 degrees temps. I was playing trail tender to a big group of friends and was just wicking the thottle between 6500 - 7500 rpm, just kinda putt-ing along. Can rotate the primary about half way one way and it locks, then back the other half way and it locks again.

I can honestly say ............. I aint too happy with BRP (I will be making an XP review post soon) .......... Time to unload my thoughts.

I will report back once its tore down, my dealer Rexburg Motor Sports has been doing an incredible job trying to handle all the XP issues (Along with having all 4 brands of Sleds issues). I am amazed how they try and cater to everyones problems.

Carnage

The verdict is in; Lost the mag side lower rod bearing and it took out the cylinder also.

Ummmmmmmmm, is it just me, or didnt BRP's marketing for this years 800R address this problem that they knew they had last year........

On a exceptional note, my dealer "Rexburg Motor Sports" has a short block coming, and I should be on the snow Saturday..............

They ROCK!
