IS it a bad thing when the motor makes a funny noise and seizes ???

Ummmmmmmmm, is it just me, or didnt BRP's marketing for this years 800R address this problem that they knew they had last year........

They did talk a lot about that at the snow shows. Thats the problem.... marketing addressed the problems, engineering didn't.

Slim, I was pretty convinced after talking to the doo rep. He told me a million different things that they did to address "internal expansion" issues caused by dissimialar metals/thermal dynamics and blahblahblah. Anyway, I was about 3 beers into the show and if I'd had some spare cash, I would have considered one.

I think the big question on everyone's mind right now is, all manufacturers will lose a few motors. Are we just lucky enough those owners that ended up with the bad motors on this forum....or is this a bigger problem.

jealous

T/A, and SLim, Nobody deserves to spend this much money and have their sled blow up, sorry guys. However, us die hard poo guys tend to want to laugh at BRP for several reason IMO. 1) we are jealous the xp is so light. 2) that stupid video they put out showing how the new sled is sooo superior to the other three brands. Their marketing anoys me. Those shootouts proved nothing, the test riders could easily skew what we saw in the vidio. However, props to Doo for putting a new sled into full production and getting them to the customers on time, unlike poo is doing. So while I don't like BRp's marketing, I will never find pleasure in someones sled breaking on them when the snow is flying. I would like to ride an XP, but will probably never change brands. Good luck guys.
