Is CFMOTO Actually buying Arctic Cat????????

What if I were to tell you it's an American Industrial Conglomerate, the companies in thier portfolio is a drop in the bucket that branches out to ones they swallowed up and merged.

Anyone remember the Robin engine or the cackle of 600,800 Fuji? Triple triple baby and you knew it when it was time to repack those stingers :)

I would agree with this as well. With a powersports company, I would think that Cat would be a bit more of a priority within the company structure. As opposed to just another division within the conglomerate.
As far as a possible Chinese ownership is concerned, I have some mixed feelings. But as long production continues in the US and the employment opportunities are there, I'm Ok with it.
I would agree as well. It's good for the current CAT owners and that is what is important here. On the downside, could they just possibly be trying to getting around upcoming Tariffs? Would that be fair for American Manufacturing? That's a lot to think about, and I hope I haven't stirred a hornet's nest.

"CFMOTO USA To Sponsor Entire 2024-2025 National Snocross Season
CFMOTO USA is a leading global manufacturer of high-performance motorcycles and off-road vehicles, and has committed to sponsor the entire 2024-2025 national Snocross season.
CFMOTO USA headquarters are based in Minneapolis, MN and it's more than just a building – it’s a beacon of state-of-the-art design and innovation, laser-focused on the American powersports enthusiast.

Why would CFMOTO sponsor snowcross if they are not buying Cat?

Yes sir!

I don't know that I'd be upset if that is the direction that it goes. When I was ATV shopping a few years ago I wanted to get a Yamaha, but when you are looking at them side by side it was almost heartbreaking. A base model 600 Yamaha was going to run me 6K more, with none of the accessories. Fit and finish was on par with each other, plastics are comparable, most components are just as beefy. I think you give up a little power with the CFmoto...but for hunting and plowing snow that wasn't going to be a deal breaker for me. Three years later my quad is still going strong, my only issue is that the bumpers are weak and could use some gussets or thicker tube - but I have zero real complaints. It rides well and has plenty of power for what I want to do.

It isn't an apples to apples comparison, but CFMOTO isn't the trash that people make it out to be anymore. When you have a family and a limited budget, cost is going to make a huge impact and if they can bring the price of a sled down a couple grand they will probably sell a lot of them.

Because people that watch snocross also buy motorcycles and atvs?

Granted it was 15-20 years ago, but my dad had a cheap Chinese 250 utility quad and that thing was a runner. I believe it was a Yamaha Timberwolf clone. The only issue we ever found with it was the rubber components were crap and would dry rot and crack pretty quick. That little 250 would walk away from his Yamaha bruin 350, granted the bruin is cvt driven and the Chinese 250 was a manual trans. I would expect that the component quality with Chinese atvs has sense improved, especially with someone as popular and big as cf moto seems to be. Of course we’d all love an American company to buy cat, but if it’s either cf buys them or they shutdown for good, I’d be fine with cf buying them if they didn’t completely cheap out on building them. It’s not like a good portion of components on most sleds aren’t already outsourced anyways.

One advantage for AC if they were owned by CF Moto is the supply chain. in 2022-23 I waited until after the snow season for certain AC parts. CF Moto I believe is pretty integrated and makes a lot of their own parts and they're large enough now that and that keeps their prices very competitive. AC's supply chain issues would be potentially solved of the parent company supplies everything. Also could be an indicator on why Textron bought out the supply contracts perhaps? 100% speculation of course.

Times are changing :)

The partnership marks the first step in preparing for the arrival of the Ducati Desmo450 MX in the American market ahead of its upcoming racing debut in the AMA Championship

I about tripped over my tongue when I seen this.

The best of the best.

Anyone wondering why we can't build stuff like this ?

Supply chain issues over covid were partially self inflicted. Lost a lot of people in service and purchasing prior to covid and ran out of Georgia. When they went to the new website and other changes they didn't even have their oil setup to be able to be ordered by dealers. It kept saying it was backordered and the vendor couldn't figure out why no one was ordering until the dealers reached out straight to the vendor.

Hopefully if someone buys they are methodical and have a plan of growth.

So, does anyone know if the rumors of CFMOTO making a bid to acquire Artic Cat are for real or not?
I am not sure I like textron or cf moto. I think cf moto would strip the tech and cheaper the product. There is some awesome new direction at artic latest sleds. I would like to see a company finish this. What happened to snojet? I would rather have Japanese company like kiawsaki maybe. Only if can't find Americans to buy it
