ARCTIC CAT to be acquired away from Textron????????

During that thirty years there’s been a lot of different times the poo die hards stepped over to cat. They didn’t do that cuz they were tired of feeling superior on their poo.

I sold my 2000 poo 800 to a buddy and bought a 2001 cat 800. The only reason it was a win for me was buddy blew up the poo. The cat was fine but not great. It was heavy. Bought a 02 poo and my buddy totaled it so Bought a 03 vertical escape. Then went through the revs. Never went back to cat until I boosted a 09 m8.

i had looked at the argo website last year after talking to a guy who went to work there from cat. He talked about the sasquatch so i wanted to check it out. I had zero idea they made side by sides and fourwheelers. If they bought cat they could expand there dealer network with cats existing network. Cats 4 wheelers have never been peoples favorite so maybe they could sell there stuff as argo and as cat and keep the sleds labeled cat.

Disappointing that Textron refuses to work with existing offers and instead chooses to watch this division die a slow death leaving tens of thousands of customers to be orphaned.
How do you know they have had any serious offers, there has been nothing but people speculating about who might/could/should buy them, no actual announcements about negotiations. I doubt Textron is willing to just sell off the factory and rights for pennies on the dollar if the buyer is just going to shut it down because they only want the assets. If they were willing to do that it would already have been done. That announcement seems to imply they are still hoping to sell AC to some one who will run it going forward and the fact they are keeping parts production going implies they ARE trying to look after current owners.

Do you actually KNOW FOR A FACT that an offer to buy has been tendered??

And let’s completely ignore the fact that all power sports sales are down.
Believe it or not, when farm commodities are down…….
One of our best recovery options is to STOP PRODUCING for a time.

That is a recovery option, best market practice, guys that do it are here to produce once the market recovers…..

Ya But
Letting a field go fallow for a season is quite a bit different from shutting down a commercial production facility and FIRING all of the staff.
That "Trove" of institutional know-how is going to VANISH once they are all forced to find employment elsewhere.
If this lasts much longer, it will become VERY hard to bring all of the bits and pieces back together to fully resurrect Cat as we once knew it.

My guess is that someone will buy the assets and name.
But then when manufacturing begins again, we get more than a few "subtle" changes going forward.

You’re making big assumptions there Christopher.

We own a commercial production facility.

Have done much more than let a field lay fallow.

When your product demand is flat or lower, nobody wins by forcing more production.

NO ARGUMENT whatsoever!

True, but a small run for 2026 with BNG would keep the brand relevant, continue relations with vendors and provide dealers with some product to sell. (There are some dealers that are clean and need product)
Shuttered production and absent staff will decimate the chances of a sale to an entity planning product continuation.

From the outside looking in Textron's maneuvers seem counter-productive to obtaining value from their investment in Arctic Cat. Should a sale be an option in their strategic plan they have not helped their situation. The brand has value but is quickly approaching assets only at a big discount, my $.02.
