Intake Bog Fix???

I have a few questions about this intake bog. I keep hearing about people installing flow rites on the intake camber by the fuel tank. How are you installing them? Do you guys remove the fuel tank to make it easy or are you managing it from removing the instrument cluster? Dont know what the easiest way is. Next, i noticed i had snow and ice behind the intake fabric. Anyone else have that and know how its getting in there?? I have some sort of valve or spring loaded deal right inside the fabric that seems like it would do a good job of letting snow in. has anyone blocked it off to prevent that? Let me know your guys thought on this. I went riding today and had nothing but intake troubles all day. I was slightly embarrassed since every dragon around me was kickin my azz. Thanks RObert..

the airbox is very easy to remove. at the top where it forms into a round shape there is a locking tab that you lift and rotate clockwise, on the left front corner of the airbox the braided steel brake line is attached to the box, pop it out and just under the holder there is a tab that you push inward toward the motor while pulling the airbox out toward you. it should slide right out, you will see on the back where it faces the tank is 2 great spots to mount a couple flow rite vents.

the spring valve deal is to let air in when your screen plugs on the outside, but it sucks in air from under the hood, along with any belt strings, belt dust, snow, and whatever else happens to be floating around in there. once you put in the flow rites, the valve won't be an issue.

I have also seen them on the left side of the airbox with matching flow-rites in the cover panel.

air box vent

Installed a cpl of TPI valves on back of box. Hood was under pow for 5 days & never bogged when I had them slid open. Didn't get time to do a plug check when on trail at low elev. so I would slide them closed for run dwn to prking lot.
