Looking for an Auxiliary Air Intake to avoid Turbo Asphyxiation

So last Monday, after we had that lovely dump, I noticed all day long my Air Intakes were either covered with snow or more often were covered in ICE and the engine was struggling from lack of AIR anytime I had it pinned wide open.

Is there anyone offering an auxiliary intake option of any sort to get more air to feed the hungry turbo?

If your bypass valve isn’t plugged, you should be able to have your top vents completely blocked and still run like a champ.

Here’s a video showing it on a g4:

Great little video.
Many Thanks
My sled certainly ran going up the hill.
But it ran BETTER after I removed all of the ice on the 2nd pull.

I’ve never checked that little powder valve on the bottom of the airbox. But last time I was out, I had an accident and had to replace my airbox,. I was surprised at how much debris was around that powder valve filter.

Are you running the stock muffler? And stock intakes. Not the HD intakes?
Even with the intakes plugged the engine will be sucking hot air in the bypass resulting in lower Max rpm.

You might think I am crazy, but those extra ribs in the HD intake can restrict air flow. I did a test on the G4 NA hd intakes after noticing a big rpm drop I didn’t experience before riding in powder, they flowed less air then stock. Something to consider.

I’ve ridden in extreme deep pow with gen v and never had a power bog. I’m thinking those hd vents are giving you issues.
Its possible.
Mind you, we have only had ONE DEEP day this whole season.
So last monday was my ONE and ONLY time I felt like the engine needed more air.
Not a large database to draw upon.
But its certainly possible I suppose.
