injury head count

As I mentioned in a thread earlier, a friend of mine had a bad wreck on the ramp. He overshoot the landing ramp by 19ft and ended up with two compression fraktures in his back + a broken wrist. The fracture in his wris was so complicated that they had to send him to the universial hospital outside Oslo to fix it. That's 750miles ( a hour 1/2 flight ) whit a ankle you don't want to move:(

Sons season ender

This is how my sons season ended. March 23rd in Revelstoke. Day 1 of a 4 day trip... told him his timeing sucked he could have waited til the last day. Tough kid tho rode him self out 27 kms.

Broke my right hand playing city league basketball, decided to go riding anyways on our yearly mountain trip and didn't do too bad.

The one that got me was repeated years of smashing my face off the ground/objects playing sports, had to get the intake port and polished (nasal cavity needed to be fixed - 40% blockage in left and 90% blockage on the right). No more riding as of March 26th but just got cleared to go back to firefighting, so at least I don't have to sit on the couch anymore....

Hey Rob , u b luching all over !!!! Good to hear you up and running again , and your dad will be soon too . I am actually Tryingt to make a mountian trip april 23rd to the horns.

lucky you, I'm done for the year, starting up with fire season and our crew has been helping with flood stuff too. Good things come to those who wait, I hear about a decent sized system coming through, hopefully ya get a ton there, seeing ya all year at the meetings with your leg like that and a new sled thats hardly broke in, ya deserve a good ride yet!!!

Post the pics in Dakota when ya get back!

He is healing up quite nicely they put a rod in and 3 screws no cast. He was hitting golf balls off the lawn already says he will be good to go by the time the course opens. He was sidehilling across a slope hit an old track sled bucked he stuck his foot out and it caught in the snow and twisted it. Not a spetacular crash for sure.

How's everybody healin up?

Pretty good here!!

Been going pretty slow for me. Accident happened on the 31st of January and I can put some weight bearing on it but still can't walk. I have 8 more weeks of Physical Therapy 3 times a week to get some mobility back and get to where I can walk again. After that time frame hopefully I'll be able to get back to work in some kind of light duty capacity but it's doubtful due to liability issues which is understandable. It's a tough go but we are fortunate and had some savings put away just wasn't planning on using it to pay our bills. It sucks getting older and healing so slow!
