NOPE - T Rex Fab

Do Not Buy - T Rex Fab
Bumper Hooks Ski

Ski grab handle HOOKED onto the bumper horn and stuck there. Downhill in deep snow turning. Thought I broke a control arm, but it just simply is designed poorly, or isn’t designed. See video. Was able to manually unhook it after getting off the sled.

Video taken with brand new durapro ski bushings. When incident happened I had 1 season old Kyber One bushings.

Contacted T Rex and he said it “shouldn’t” happen, sent him the video of proof that it can happen easily and haven’t heard back.

Wanted to make people aware, too many other, proven options out there to give this guy your money.

Bad luck it seems, but I see how it could happen. I run backwoods and that wouldn’t happen with theres. And as far as weight, it’s extremely minimal for what they can do.

The t rex is just a bad design and looks dumb too in my opinion. The backwoods couldn’t hook the ski loop and I agree, it could case major problems in grarville if that was to happen.

BMfab is similar. I’ve run their bumper for years and haven’t had a problem.

How wide is the trex bumper?

BMfab exo front bumper

ETA: didn’t see kylant’s post.

It wouldn’t be too hard to narrow either bmfab or trex.

I bought my sled used & it had T-Rex front control arms. I pulled those off before even riding it. Seemed like really poor quality. One ball joint was creaking away & rusty. Sled had 180 miles on it. Thankfully previous owner gave me the stock arms as well. I could definitely see how that bumper could cause a issue.

Had it happen with Polaris monarch bumper ...took a moment to realize why sled didn't want to turn ...not a common occurrence

It could happen on any front bumper with exposed ends like that. It does happen with any of those bumpers, most people just correct the issue and move on. It usually takes a certain condition for it to happen anyways. Also, trex fab a arms are fine, fit well, and are durable. Yes the hiems do rust, but welcome steel components. I spray mine down with CLR every few weeks and they dont rust.

I'd have no problem buying t rex a arms. They may not look the fanciest, but they hold up well and take a beating

Definitely not true. if you ride in no fall zones and technical terrain the bumper hooking a ski is a huge problem.
