This is the first I have heard "road riding" is safe. I have lost 1 friend to "road riding".

Good luck arguing against OT. Have seen many fail.

I am going out tomorrow and purchasing one of these tomorrow just because he thinks they are stupid! Sounds like a good problem to me! Ultimatley no one decideds when it's there turn!!! Enjoy!!

Hmmmmm Do you think that possibly that is what OT is trying to accomplish? There is a great saying (and book) by Eric Bischoff "Controversy Creates Cash" it also brings attention to things people often ignore.

I think OT went to the Bischoff school of sales.

That statement says it all, we all make a choice & pick our poisen.

As for having all the gear that is not the issue and most folks just do not care to understand that the idea is to travel or "TREAD LIGHTLY" in the backcountry, "without causing avalanches at all"......Many riders could care less if you ride the backcountry you see this everwhere, the tracks are the evidence on many steep slopes and even on slopes that you thought could never slide....Treading Lightly also keeps the backcountry open for those that know how to use it.

You are clearly an arrogant, ill informed moron dude. You really have no concept as to what can happen when playing in the backcountry. You must be another poser that sits in the meadow and claims he can actually ride a mountain sled, not someone who "knows how to use it." Man, I am as careful as possible when in the backcountry but there is a certain amount of risk that I incure when I buckle my helmet to go for a ride. As for my actions affecting anyone else, each and every person I ride with knows the game. They know the risks...and a bag doesnt make me more ballzy. It will just hopefully allow me to ride another day if the situation develops. If everyone and everything were perfect (and I am not nor is my environment) then I wouldnt need a bag. But the backcountry is a very volatile environment in which accidents can happen. I am really fond of living. I am also really fond of adrenaline. If the bag has the ability to save my life if an accident occurs while im getting an adrenaline hit while being as careful as possible, then can you actually make a case for it being a bad thing OT?? You are clearly an idiot that should be banned from the forum for your totally stupid comments.

Good Day

Just as i thought....Many folks justify the risk and like to cheat possible death, buy owning tools that may or may not save your life while in the steeps of the backcountry......Many of you are clearly blinded and perhaps don't even care as long as you get a thrill ride.

When a person die's in an Avy it always "that poor guy" and never "that poor guy caused his own death by riding in avalanche prone terrain".

All you have to do is go into the backcountry and look at some of the highmarks. Do any of you believe that the terrain that these highmarks are on don't slide ? You want to cause a avalanche ? You want to cheat death ? You carrying some type of crystal ball telling you the condition of the snow pack on that highmark your about to attempt ?.....Ahhhhhh it's OK MAN i got all the TOOLS to save my azz. LMFAO......Just because you have all the tools does not give anyone a Free Pass in the backcountry.

Mark my words next BIG STORM to pass through the backcountry some poor bazturd will kill himself in the backcountry caused buy an avalance he created..... It's become an automatice with each big storm.

OT

Yup...I'm pretty sure he is.

Without a doubt... he is that ignorant. He is a self righteous moron who doesnt know a thing about sledding. He is the parking lot tuner who walks around the parking lot talking sleds and then parks at the bottom with his hood open. Just read his threads , he IS that stupid.

Avy bags will be available on ebay for cheap in the near future, once the backcountry gets closed down due in part to the out of control attitude that folks have while traveling in "avalanche prone backcountry".

Mark My Words Next Big Storm The Forum Will Be Discussing Some Poor Azz Who Killed Himself In an Avy the Poor Azz Created.

Heres how typical Generation X thinks.............Im really found of living, im really found of riding avalanche prone area's, im really fond of living, im really fond of riding avalanache prone areas. I really don't give a chit, i really don't give a chit because im really fond of myself and don't give a chit about what really matters.

So what, we are supposed to stay on the groomed trails, until someone says that those are too much of an impact too? Any slope between 25 & 45 degrees can avalanche. It occurs naturally based on the temp, snow loading etc. Yes sometimes a snowmobiler, or cross country skier cuts a mark or a hiker overloads a weak spot and is the trigger to the snow breaking loose, but the snow had to be at that point anyways naturally. That is why we pay attention to avalanche warnings.

Tetonice, I think your point is that the ABS pack identifies aggressive riders and to a point you are correct. But it is also a mark of the more responsible of that breed. If they are going to take that step towards personal protection then it is also probable that they are taking a harder look at what hills they do ride and what the conditions are when the ride them.

imo,OT is alot smarter than most of you think he is.:beer;

Nope... he is stupider that i ever thought possible. Possible work record holder. BS artist , fake , poser , wannabee. The only reason he has a long track is due to his overwelming width. One of the few who outweigh his sled.
The IQ of this place has gone up a ton since i put him on ignore.
