Motorfist

Just getting back into sledding after 10 years away. Amazed at the changes in equipment and the selection of great gear. Did a lot of research on line and in the dealerships. Finally bought a pair of motorfist rekon bibs. Best fit of everything I tried. Material seems durable and info on event leads me to think it works. If the bibs work well this winter, will buy more in future. My wife is looking forward to their ladies line coming out next year. Also wanted to support local companies. Both Motorfist and Klim are headquartered w/in 50 miles of where we ride, so it will probably always be one of those two.

I have always used my last years outerwear from snowboarding as my sled gear. With that being said I have to admit I took the chance of getting wet and cold more often than not, especially on those deep days which is why we ride anyway. Thats not the case with my boots. I have had great luck wearing Burton boots with no problems getting wet or cold. Ive used the Ion and the last few seasons the SLX. Back to outerwear, this season I bought Burton AK which is all gore-tex and cant say enough about its performance. I have friends who only believe in Klim or any other sled specific gear and they love it so nothing against them. I do alot of bc snowboarding and it was always easier to have my shred gear/boots on and ready to ride. Not many of you have mentioned snowboard gear but there is quality gear out there, at least AK. Thats my 2 cents, ride safe........

My bud finally decided to break down and buy some good bibs. We went to a local dealer here in Wi that sells both Klim and Motorfist. He found the fit of the Klim better than the Motorfist, plus, I have had 4 years with my Klim gear, with no issues, and always being dry. He decided that because Klim has been around for 10 years, and they fit better, he would go with them.

I bought a pair of W.O.T. Motorfist gloves this fall, so far so good. The only issue I have is the fact that the wrist area is freaking tight. It really sucks putting them on, and if your hands are wet, holy crap, forget about it. And it is not because I have big hands either, I wear a medium.

Quality and Service made me vote for Klim

He is also very involved in protecting our right to ride, and riding areas.

I've had NorthFace pants, Klim freeride pants, North Face Jacket, ToBe jacket, Klim socks, 4 or 5 pair Klim gloves, ToBe Helmet, Klim headsock.

This year I bought Motorfist hydrophopia mid layers. Loved them from the start.
Bought Motorfist Rekon pants to replace my 8 year old Klim pants. LOVE those Event fabrics. VERY cool stuff. I've worn my Rekon pants twice now. I like them a LOT. Favorite pants so far.

I also have a Motorfist Hellroaring jacket from Lincoln County Custom's shop (was way cheaper to buy it with their logo on it anyway. :) ) . Fricken LOVE that jacket too. Can be worn as a mid layer or a shell. Bought MF Killswitch and WOT gloves. I like those a LOT.

I try not to be a walking posterchild of one single brand....I try them all.
this year I'm pretty excited about the Motorfist gear.
BTW, their customer service is TOP NOTCH for what little I've had to deal. It was just a size swap...twice...and they are ON TOP of it. I think they overnighted a set of pants to me. :)

i used to where klim but got some slednecks stuff a couple years back, i would say slednecks is better, at least more comfortable for me but hopefully next year i will be railing my own line of outerwear and the year after that i hope some of you will too!

I've just bought a set of Klim Adrenaline shoes and HMK Pullover with HMK Action Pants:GOT TO LOVE IT!
The shoes are the best I've ever used on a sled, and the pants have genius solutions with the feature where you can zip out the inner lining and take the back flap off.
Best buy so far:face-icon-small-hap

hmm

I got a little bit of all of it.

Let's see,,,, I'd have to say..

1st. Klim,,,,, always dry. And they just send me new stuff when I ask:nod:

2nd. Motorfist,,,,,,, good stuff, wishin the lifetime warranty would have stuck around.. I'll be buyin more stuff.:face-icon-small-win

Got some FXR stuff that comes out in the spring,,,, not bad.:face-icon-small-hap

now, we'll skip to dead f***** last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HMK.............. had lots of there stuff, and liked it, actually I still wear it, but will NEVER buy any of it again!!!!!!!!!!!

A jacket I had worn a few times had some seam tape come loose on the inside of one sleeve down by the cuff???????

Thought, damn it, well, I'll call and see what they will do about it....

Well,,,, They basically said,,, and this isn't really their words, but I'll sum it up,,,,, "Too bad buddy, you and your wife are stupid and can't read!"

Ha ha,,, yep.... now there's some stellar customer service for ya!!!:tsk:

With all my searching it seems I'm going with Klim. They're the only brand that makes a tall. Unfortunately their women's gear is slim pickings and barely long enough for me (even the tall). So once again I will buy men's gear. :face-icon-small-sad

Hopefully we have made a difference and they will add more to the selection this coming fall!!!!

Klim! The make Tall sizes! I have a nice motorfist coat sleeves are to short! next size is a tent

Sleeve lengths are a priority for me also. Hard to find tall sizes in sled gear.

Correct me if I am wrong...but isn't Burton a big non-motorized activist working to shut down areas for motorized use??

I had a gift card for Cabela's 10 years ago and cashed it in on one of their winter motorsports jackets, added the bibs a couple of years later. I usually spray some inexpensive water proof on a couple of times a season on the set. I'd buy again.

Hmm... I haven't bought clothes for me other then gloves in a number of years now. Everything I have is extra small in mens, at the time there was only the fluffy pink girly options in womens sizes. Also it is hard to beat the deals on men's xs clothing, dirt cheap.

Scott coat- love love love my coat. Very warm, dry and wind resistant, never got wet. I do sometimes wish I had more fitted cut around my middle, makes it look like I have a gut with my backpack on, but I can deal with the baggyness.

Skidoo pants, I got them front my brother these thing have been around for a while. But I can't seem to find a reason to change them out, fit good, never got wet in them and warm. Just wish they didn't say skidoo on them, lol.

HMK boots, and just bought a pair of polaris gloves (mine got melted several times this year on hot pipes and they started to leak) at a off season steal.

What a pain trying to find a good pair of gloves! I tried on pretty much everything out there, klim, hmk, etc. Everything was either too bulky (little hands and short fingers) that I had trouble bending my fingers or not warm enough.

If I had to buy new.... the new motofist line looks interesting but not sure I like the bibs, would rather have pants. I saw a scott women's coat that I liked at a dealer last year. So either motofist or scott would be the first brands I would be looking into.

Steph did you see the new Empress lineup from Motorfist? I'm not big on the pink but it's subtle...plus they have grey trim. I'm hoping it'll be at the snow show so I can take a better look! Don't seem to have the price list yet, but it's nice to see something for the ladies out there!

I agree, I would get the white over the pink....pretty sharp looking from what I can tell. Hopefully there will be some at the snow show this year!
