HMK baby! You gotta look good to play good.

Man If I had "BETTER" skills and just another notch of confidence :D I'd be sporting that bad one piece HMK's got!

I love my KLIM gear! (gloves, bibs, boots) Warm, dry and effective. Gonna try an HMK Outlaw parka this year.

If there was a better gear builder on the planet than Klim Gore would use them. If there was a better more durable membrane on the market than Gore Klim would use it.

Its not just about waterproofness and breathablity in the snowmobile industry. Most of the membranes on the market are relatively good at these two functions short term. The real issue is durability. We aren't backpacking or skiing in this stuff, were riding sleds. Klim has used most of the membranes on the market and proven what will work for snowmobiling and what won't. If eVent would have provided the long term durability Klim wanted to offer in their gear they would still be using it. I was curious why they made the switch, so I called Klim and ask them. It was one of the most educational calls I've ever made. I don't bite easily, but these guys know their stuff. Now they have a billion dollar company behind them making sure everything they build is the best on the planet.

I was on a trip to Maryland and stopped and toured a Gore factory. Once you realize the R&D Klim has behind them you laugh when you hear guys making statements like their quality has gone down. No way, not a chance in the world this will happen. Gore spends more money in a day making sure Klim is building their gear out of the best textiles on the planet than any other manufacture spends in a year.

Klim is far and away number 1. The fight right now is for who is going to be 2nd.

FYI. Last winter, I put a couple of small tears in one of the knees in my 7 year old Togwotee bibs. Called Klim last week, sent the bibs to 'em. They called me back with a quote of $50 (their min. repair order) plus return shipping. They'll have them back to me within 10 days or so. Great customer service. I guess they're replacing the entire knee section, not just stitching up the holes.

Marketing question for the masses.

If Gore and eVent were identical, do you suppose Klim would use Gore simply for the advantage of name recognition?

That's one thing a lot of guys don't understand about Klim. If they can't do the repair and sent your product back to you as waterproof as the day you bought it they won't do the repair. Very smart business if your in it for the long haul.

3 years now on my Klim gear and its still pretty much as good as the day I bought it. It's safe to say that with all the branches you rub up against on the average ride that you would think the gear would get torn and leak but no such luck, I am very impressed with mine... I think about the only reason I can think of for me to upgrade to new Klim gear would be to change colors, lol

Very happy customer here:face-icon-small-coo

I was thinking I was going to get new hmk gear but after looking at both yesterday at the snowshow I ended up with new klim gear. Just as a side note both klim and hmk say made in china right on the tag inside the gear. With that being said its just a matter of pesonal preference between the two. I liked both it was a hard decision.

Another vote for Klim!

I've had their gear for 5 years and have never been let down, other than a wrist cuff which they happily replaced. Tremendous clothes, based in my home state, phenomenal customer service, a company truly dedicated to summer and winter motor sports!

I know their are others out there but klim uses world class materials and has years upon years in R&D. There IS a reason why so many people wear the stuff, it works.

HMK actually has some good style and performs well. Not to mention they stand behind their product extremely well.

I love my Klim gear and feel it is without a doubt the best made..
I have used several other name brands.. You can simply feel the difference right when you pick it up..

I voted HMK heard lots of good stuff.

But I rock out some Cabelas store brand gore bibs for half the price of KLIM. And a slednecks coat on the cheap that has performed well for me.

Motorfist

I decided to give Motorfist a try this season. I just got the Rekon coat in the mail the other day and it feels real nice and the fit is perfect. I decide to go with them because I like the styling and the reviews seem solid. Another factor was the offset front zipper. I usually wear a technical fleece or a mid layer coat that both have front zips, so the offset zipper on the Rekon will keep the two zippers from being bunched up under my chin. My .02

Klim builds great products and I will not disagree one bit. However I refuse to be like every other person on the hill and support a brand that does no support our sport 100%. Gore the product that they stand behind like a shield donates money to organizations that close our western riding areas. They can try to pretend that it does not happen but it does and that is a fact!!!

Second off Klim sells to companies like Cabela's and Scheel's which are not even motorsports related dealers........ How many dealers will continue to carry a product when Cabela's, a massive hunting, fishing, and camping retailer has it in catalogs and online.......

If I remember right another company out there that had the same product did the same thing?????? Reima sold to Cabela's back in the day and within 3 years they were making their own version of Knock off product that was cheaper but it did not matter because Reima lost all respect in the eyes of the dealer and without dealers stocking, selling, and promoting your product you have nothing.

How can you fault a company for selling their products?? If you want to put blame on someone for not supporting the sport, blame the people who purchase the product from cabelas and not from a sponsor of the forums (or some kind of supporting retailer of our sport.)
