I hope this wasn't one of you guys.

Not really missing the point, these guys (the skiers) don't own the property, they have no idea if the sledders do or not and I would wager that they (the skiers again) don't have permission to be there.

If it were my property I would have done the same thing, that way the cops have proof they were trespassing (once they are able to dig them out). Personally I'm sick and tired of mtn bikers, hikers, horsemen and skiers who think they have more right to any piece of public land than their motorized counterparts do.

Just last weekend we had a run in with some cross country skiers on a trail, after a quick discussion about where I would insert their ski poles should they decide not to share a trail they agreed to move over and not ski four abreast.

Thats Awesome.
You should also not fail to mention that it is We the snowmobilers that pay to keep the trails groomed so that They may more easily access the sought after (illegal)terrain on a nice smooth trail.

that pic is totaly photo shopped, there was no skier on that hill,

Bullock, whats the story with the pic? Has it been around long?
I can't tell if it's real or fake:face-icon-small-con

I know you've been dealing with this BS for years, Sucks that peeps feel they can tell you what you can and can't do on your own land.

Couldn't even imagine owning a gem like what's up cardiff.:face-icon-small-coo

i used to like you.man that is harsh

Just commenting on what I saw/read. If it's true we all look bad as a whole. If not, we all look bad as a whole. Sorry you don't like me but bad publicity right or wrong just pain sucks for our sport.
Sounds like you have a history up there and know more than the rest of us. Good luck.:face-icon-small-win

its got to be ,the only skiers up there were the powder birds and they were two ridges over.we never would of pulled a stunt like that. we have never been anything but patient with these sobs.weve even invited the forest service to come up and issue sitations to these free loaders, but of course they didnt show up.the land is clearly marked with no trespassing sighs all over the place yet they still think they own the place. the gov passed a law in favor of private property owners against fisherman fishing on privat land, now we need one for freeloading skiers...cardiff is are land stay off it...:face-icon-small-win

the only idiot i know is the uneducated...

Assuming you're side of the story is legit, thanks for taking the time to educate me. All I had to go on was the posting on the UAC website, which happens to be a website that I usually tend to believe what I read for obvious reasons.

At this point it's your word vs theirs so who knows what to believe.

All I know is the last thing we need is more people angry at the sledding community because of people doing stupid sh!t.

i agree but when it comes to are property the skiers will always make it negative.its just their nature..its been this way up there for years.....

If you really can prove that this is fake and didn't happen then you should at least contact the UAC and ask them to have it taken off their site.

all im "assuming" is it surely looks like the sledder is just checking them out not trying to run them down, its practically flat there. these cross country skiers ar just grabbing at half straws trying to make waves. again i assume you must have been there then to come down on me? whos side are you on anyway? i should move back east where there are no real rules and landowners encourage wheelies on their property and you pull skiers and boarders around for fun and everybodys happy. hope none of those smogites wonder over there

I wasnt trying to come down on you nor was I there, just pointing out what I saw in the picture. I had no idea it was flat up there or I would have stayed out of this. As far as whose side I'm on, when I first looked at the picture, it looked to me like the sledder was riding above the skier on a possible avalanche slope, making the sledder in the wrong. Now that I know its practically flat there and the sledder was just seeing what they were doing, I'm on the sledders side. Hope there's no hard feeling.

random skitard posts blog on internet.

wooptee-f'in-doo.

Who can substantiate his/her/its "claim"...?

They know that, they also knew they didn't have the right of way and were just trying to make life miserable for snowmobiles. I came around the corner doing about 35 (safe for that area) and on my side of the road, they were skiing four abreast and didn't even make an effort to move to their side of the trail.

Typical douche bag mentality of the non-motorized, holier than though twats. :face-icon-small-dis

Very Interesting..........I too just assumed the photo was real. But if you look close, the skier is headed straight up. A skier with skins on would never be headed straight up.
They would most likely not be going right up the "shot" either.
A skin track would zig zag up the slope and off to the side in a safe spot. And I can't see a skin track where the sker is at all.
If you start thinking about the odd things in this pic, it just doesn't make sense at all.
Plus, what are the chances that a sledder would really high mark the skier?
Pretty slim, granted there are some numbnuts out there. But if Shawn says this is private land, that seriusly narrows the possiblities of dumbness way down.
Maybe this should be addressed over at the UAC?:face-icon-small-sad

Today's good skiing is tomorrow's buried weak layer. Advanced NSF and surface hoar dominate the snowcover. Most exposed terrain has some form of wind crust to contend with but even these slopes still have faceted snow at the surface. Sunny slopes are the only exception to the facets.
