Hyfax Rail Fastener

P

they are 3”.

I was just saying the wheels are larger than most aftermarket anti stab kits.

I wasn’t suggesting you were saying anything else, I have seen elsewhere that people have said they are now larger than the previous MtnTk anti stab so I was curious if you knew different.

I would rather have larger centre wheels personally. Even a 1/4” larger in the stock position would give adequate clearance from the track to hyfax. Polaris felt it was important to go from 2.5” on the 22/23 to 3”
For MY 24 with the change in rail tip profile and removing of cap but they may still be undersized.

I am not suggesting the MtnTk kit is bad either. I have ran that kit for 3000+ miles on my 21 but I don’t see how adding two additional wheels the same diameter as stock is an improvement as they are simply moving the two stock close position wheels inward and support it with outboards now. I never ran caps on that set up either though the rail profile had more tip up than the 24.

'Went out to check my new '24 9R Khaos 165" after reading thru this post. Two break in rides around 25 miles each, came off on second ride somewhere.....we'll see how Polaris warranty goes on this one.
Hate to say, but Par for the course. Pictures of left side missing, and right side.

So how does one go about "buying them right?".

Asking for a friend
Most important: Be patient. Better deals tend to be in the off season, but not always. If you can buy from someone you know takes good care of a sled, great - or check everything over carefully, or both. A leakdown test and crank runout check will reveal a lot of major engine problems, but short of a complete teardown and inspection, it's not an ironclad guarantee. I'm guessing yours is a sarcastic response, but whatever.

Anyway, jawing and slings and arrows aside, it's hard to ignore that Polaris is on a poor run. Like most things Polaris, this is fixable, and this one's simple stuff. Call it an example of the "Polaris tax." Some just leave the brand for good because of it; some (like me) are kind of loyal but don't see much advantage to buying new. Even at that, Tinman and Chilly may be stuck with me in the Polaris forums for the long haul. The irony of the situation is that the people probably causing these issues - bean-counters - may also be keeping things simpler and therefore easier to work on and mod. But come on Polaris, that's hardly a compliment!

Has anyone lost the right side hyfax?
All the pics I’ve seen, I believe, have been the left side.

Of all the rails I have seen poor tapping and screws protruding it seems they are more often left of centre. So when looking at the right rail it’s on the inside of the rail but the left rail it’s on the outside. Likely due to the jig/fixture it was tapped.

Is there a higher likelihood that the left side screw will become loose sooner because of some track torque differential blah blah blah. I have no idea but it was something I noticed even on my own.

Why in the hell would they change this for 24 vs the 23? Just dumb on poo's part stop ride number 899 coming shortly l. I just ordered 2 sets of caps for our 2 24 khaos sleds

Are we seeing more Khaos skids experiencing hyfax damage or loss? Just thinking they hang out more than the Pro and I expect the track clips will contact more? Also any difference between rail lengths for some reason? I think we are going to have to have start a damage survey including: right, left, Khaos, Pro, and track length. Maybe even info on pretruding threads on either left or right hyfax bolt. Anyone here good with setting up a survey or poll type thread?

Rumor had it that the Khaos and RMK used the same rail profile this year. If so, I wouldn't think that would cause much concern, but a longer limiter strap could drop the rail tip lower I suppose.
Yes longer limiter and shock will have the skid drop out more which should or could make more contact with the track clips.

Isn’t that because there are no rail caps on the 2024 sleds and the hyfax is not cut on the correct angle?

Wow . So for Warranty with all these problems... polaris may say "track tension" . May be best now just to follow Jokaris maintenance specs and to take to jokaris dealer for ANY maintenance. My previous dealer sucks. new dealer not so bad. find yourself a good dealer and anymore do not touch the sled yourself. When i picked up my 23 boost the two kids who puy it together did not have a clue maybe now just leave it at that . If I did not straighten my track and tension correctly it would have been back for warranty. but i caught it. Where I bought it was not my old no support dealer.

Mine are 3.25”.
Again, maybe irrelevant here but just
sharing possible options.
I bought my kit used off a pro-ride chassis I believe.
