Hyfax Rail Fastener

FYI
My 23 Khaos 163 has both rail screws centred with no issues and in my opinion is what we expect and deserve for that amount of $$…

i can't believe we are dealing with this. huge step backwards for such a simple thing.
i bet the bean counters eliminated the "unnecessary" part to save 50 cents a sled.
this is going to cost them in warranty repairs.
this will be the next stop ride/recall. guaranteed 🤦🏻

I ride Polaris because it's what costs me the most. Even if sleds with more than 1000 miles are something real, I'd rather snow-shoe than ride one. If my new sled starts and moves, it's working perfectly and cannot be improved on. Burandt is awesome because suck-ups pay top dollar for hand-me-down sleds he got cheap from Polaris. If you are poor and/or are mechanically uninclined then you need to ride the brand I'll go back to in a few years.
I hate to break it to you, Chilly, but Polaris are the cheapest sleds to run if you buy them right and take care of them - makes them the perfect sled for "poor" people. Not that I have any idea what poverty is; anyone who can legitimately afford a sled and gas to go ride it is rich by most of the world's standards. Oh, and this forum expert cheapskate has been riding "not for poor people" Polaris sleds longer than you. But doo look on the bright side: the Doo forums have been counting the days til your return!

So how does one go about "buying them right?".

Has anyone tried taking the rail caps from a 22 and put them on a 24? As you see, the 24 (orange) hyfax is a bit long from factory….

I have already seen a photo of 23 caps on a 24. There was some adjustments to be made but I have 2 caps on order and will be going that way.

I was going to post about MTNTK but decided not to at risk of being irrelevant in the mighty matrix section... lol.

Anyways, I've been running that setup minus the out board wheels for a full season now on cat elevate rails. Just source some shorter bolts and run the inboards. The 4 wheel anti-stab was proven un-successful in stump tests... knock yourself tho. They are what, about 3.5" wheels, really stout axle, I think you might be fine with just the inboards if ya trim that nonsense hyfax overhang. my .02. The stock anti-stab setup is a joke

I’ve had the same issue with outboard wheels. You will stab a track when the outside wheel snaps off. Been there twice.
I will run the inside wheels if they are 3.5” at the stock spacing.
For clarity, I haven’t tried the MTNTK setup.

Interesting. I’ve also had this happen twice with Axys but didn’t stab. Been using the MTNTK since. I think those were Wahl’s? I must be lucky.

Khaos vs RMK angles

Haven’t seen this mentioned but the Khaos appears to have a more abrupt transition because of the longer shock stroke or limiter strap. Looking at my 155 rmk, the track and hifax are parallel. Looking at some Khaos pictures the track is 10-15* more abrupt. Does anyone have both sitting next to each other to verify?

The mtntk axle is more than double the size of most 4 wheel anti stab kits. The bolts are 7-16” diameter and 11/16” hex head. Loctite in place.

We’ve ran 4 different sets without issues.

I wouldn’t try running the mtntk without the outer wheels since they are narrow spacing in the middle.
