How many have lost "skirts"

This is the best sentence I have ever read on Snowest ^^^ I'm getting a chub just thinking about the Suzuki power plant in the Pro :D

Might want to call the rental company's in the west most are losing there 2012 800 cat motors around 3300 miles!!! Just heard this last weekend right from two different renters in West yellowstone!!!

That's still 3 times what I got out mine before I had to rebuild the top end.

Hell, I would think that would be almost acceptable by todays standards. 3300 miles for me would be 2 really good trouble free seasons. If those things weighed 60lbs less and didn't trench like a mofo I would be all over them.

So let me get this straight, you people are saying I should void my 4 year warranty on my 2012 to put in a "fix kit" which will last maybe 2 years, so that i can buy a new motor for 4000 when the "fix kit" goes down? :face-icon-small-dis IMO anyone who DIDNT get extended warranty on their polaris should look themselves in the mirror and say I am an idiot. The down time and loss of riding time waiting for warranty parts really sucks though and I feel bad for my fellow sledheads going through that.

Here is the real fix kit:

Dear Polaris,
Suzuki no longer has a contract with Arctic Cat. Please call them up, and purchase many Suzuki 800 motors and put them in your sweet Pro Chassis.
Better motor, more HP, best chassis. Everyone's a winner! Happy(groomed) trails and Deep powder to all...
Thank you,
Phatty

I haven't had any problems with my 12 yet but seeing all this makes me almost feel like it's inevitable. I'll second this request by Phatty, What a machine that would be!

I wouldn't count on it I have been waiting just over 3 weeks for a short block, they are on back order and nobody seems to know when they are going to be available. I have heard of people who have been waiting 5+ weeks for one

Sure makes you feel like buying another one.I will be riding my 07 dragon for the rest of the season until I can afford to rebuild my engine. No new polaris in my garage until they can engineer a 800 that will last longer than a bic lighter.
Heres a thought have yamaha build them a 2 stroke or better yet Hire Indy Dan or RKT.

well new snow keeps falling still no sign of a motor from polaris.. season is shot, enough reason for me to switch brands.. i love my pro too much but i cant do this again!

If you do decide to switch makers... IMO, the 2013 Cat is the way to go..

I NEED TO CHILL OUT

WHAT A BUNCH OF BS! There is NO EXCUSE for such crappy customer service from Polaris. How many car companies would stay in business if they had this kind of customer service??? I don't know about engines like most here on this forum do but I know enough about Polaris and their new wall street CEO.
I have owned 15 Polaris sleds and 2 ATV's since 1991. Two Fuji motors went down, 1, 2005 900 junk Fusion, blow apart, 3, so called bullet proof 2007 600's,
burn down, and one 09 dragon 800 complete engine failure. The 09 was two weeks past their factory warranty. Sorry sucker! Warranty over, take a hike!
I feel for you partner.
Sorry guys for all my ranting.:baby: I'll go back to my Man Cave now.:face-icon-small-hap
As far as the Cat motor? I don't buy it. Spent one week last February in Cooke City. 4 new Cats motors went down. One had 8 miles on it. Didn't even make the 9 mile trip from the parking lot into Cooke. One other fellow had a new four stroke that wouldn't come out of reverse. And he told me the dealer in town had four rentals with the same problem.:face-icon-small-sad That's what we were told, anyway.:face-icon-small-dis

If the cats are going down why haven't we heard of it over there???

'13 Pro + Suzuki = everyone else goes under. To bad the current motor wont hit emissions in '14 but that would be a really good setup to start with.

I can't answer why you haven't heard it over there. I don't go over there. As I had mentioned in my last sentence, "that's what we were told, anyway".
I have always been pro Cat, and Polaris, ONLY because their from my home state. They all have their issues, and that really pi$$es me off considering how much we pay for them no matter which brand we buy. I talked to a guy in Cooke who rides Ski-doo at the same time and his rollers went on his secondary. (6) The Cooke City dealer told him they are back ordered until June. His dealer back home told him the same thing.
I don't mean to brand bash. I am just tired of these companies getting away with some of the crapola they get away with. Yeah I will go away now.:lips::lips::lips:

That sucks Dmill really injoyed your videos.Mine runs but do not dare to ride it until I tear it down and check my cylinders.I guess I could take out a second mortgage if it goes down for a new short block but it seems like they have run out of them for the year. I remember when 1500 miles they were just getting broke in.They can call it internet hype but their are alot out there that never come on here.

We took a 11 with a blown motor rod bearing went out on Mar 6th and picked it up with a brand new short block on Mar 14th and that was even from a different dealer then it was bought from!!!!

My '12 took 3 weeks for a new motor, the last thing it needed was a backordered oil pump, which is what caused the failure in the first place.

this just makes me sick to my stomach, im so irritated, my life is sledding, i work on mine all summer, spend ridiculous amounts of money for this, i bet i put 4 grand into getting mine ready this summer, went all last year perfect year, got two good early rides and then this.. 2 sets of injectors, still couldnt give it more than half throttle, one pipe sensor, 4 sets of a-arms, 2 of them being zbroz, blown rebuilt and revalved fox shocks from pfr, which i will never suggest to anyone for a revalve or rebuild he charged me too much and picked up shop and move and wont warranty his work.. because i rode it out hard on washboards with a blown shock, it vibrated my front track shock out, brand new fox fts, and snapped in half.. went off a jump after replacing those shocks and zbroz arm snapped at welds, bent my brand new evol x's in the front, lost my go pro.. take it to my dealer who i spend god knows how much and they wont warranty it because of it being "highly modified".. take it to another dealer and now im waiting god knows how long now for a backordered short block.. i called them every other day for ahile, finally they got fed up and said they would call me when my motor gets here..

i love my pro stick up for it all day, dump thousands into and bragged about how reliable it was last year.. no more

i can rant and rant but i pretty much gave up on the season, stopped calling every single day, and put it in their hands

HOLY BEJEEZUSS!!! found out today my sled is finally finished up.. just in time to go stump jumping and tear off some more a-arms.. sweet... thanks polaris, i bought brand new so i didnt have this issue... oops.. fooled me good

anyone know where there is snow in mt... hell maybe i will get to use my brand new hero 2 before the end of the season and put together another edit
