Cuz... Utah pretty much ROCKS!!!!Why wouldn't you look??? Just wait for winter to hit.
It is great to hear about your dads success, this bull was took on opening morning in the Uintas
The buck my brother shot on Saturday in Idaho
That is sweet!!! GP!!! Your dad is quite the hunter. When you told me he was retired, I thought he was retired from work. Then when I walked into his Trophy House, I saw that he was retired from hunting!!! LOL!!! It looks like he has a hard time staying away from work!!!
It's good to see he is back out in the field!!!
Will you ask him if he would give Melissa some private shooting lessons???
I have had her on two 300 class bulls since her hunt opened and I will be darned if she can hit the dam things!!!! I just don't understand how you get buck fever when you are elk hunting!!!
Nice. Thanks too! I know someone in Utah would LOVE to have that in his truck.
He was so excited. And he called me after they sent us the pictures on my email and asked if we could print them off. He likes to HOLD the picture and carry it with him. I'm sure he carry's a photo book in his pocket, not a wallet. He's quite the shot. Definitely a great hunt for him.
Nice! With any luck, I'll be hunting two states next year. Looks to be some good hunting up high east of Heber. I'm sure somebody would like to fling a few.
Any ranges in the area? I got skunked this year, only got out three days.
Sometime while your out here we will have to ride and when we stop for lunch we can chat about some areas to hunt and some options.
My dad did.His hunting days were over a long time ago. He has one of everything and no where to hang anything else. I grew up on wild meat. So I'm not so wild about it now. But my dad's neighbor got him an elk tag because he wanted my dad to get out and hunt with him. And he got one a couple nights ago. He is so excited. The story of his night is to long for me to write. So here is the short version in one sentence. He went out alone in the evening, got his elk, went back home to get my mom to help, she called a couple friends, it got dark, they almost got lost, my mom fell in the creek, dad had to pull her out, got the elk gutted, and went back the next morning to haul it out. Short story eh? My dad is 64. I think getting this elk made him feel 10 years younger. I'm so proud of him. And a big thanks to Adam/AKA/mtnpull/AKA/Legend... My mom and dad wouldn't have got it done without your brother. Thank you! They appreciate you guys a ton!!! Here are pics of my dad's elk. Not to bad for a old guy hunting by himself. He said the biggest one he had ever seen in that area.
I think he is still in shock he got this elk. My dad is such a STUD!
My dad and his neighbor that bought him the tag.
My mom and dad.
Great story GP, Here are a few pics of my dads bull. He will be 65 in two weeks. He came out from Vermont a week before the season to try and get acclimated. First day we were up at 2:45am, dragged him through 5 miles of complete h e l l and called this guy in at 0800. Not bad for his first bull ever. Of course once the shooting stop the real work began. He is not sure he wants to do the any bull on public land hunt again! He likes shooting cows too! I cannot tell you how lucky I am to be able to share the passion that brought me to Utah with the man who taught me to hunt.... Thanks DAD!
