Fix the economy?

I agree in the future lets mind our own business, keep our miliatry home and protecting our country and stop being the babysitter for the world. All it ever got us was debt and enemies.

Also If defense spending drives such a big segment of our economy than why have the multiple wars not brought prosperity ?

Are you better off today than you were four years ago?.

yes = BS.

I am completely. I have gotten raises every year as well as bonuses and I haven't been busier at work since I started their 5 years ago. To top it off housing is getting more affordable and my family are looking at buying a home in the next year or so. My perspective is that I have never been better. Though I realize this is not the case for everyone.

Maybe part of the problem with this country is that everyone is waiting for someone else to make their lives better. Waiting for the president to "fix" their situation.

I don't know why they are all waiting, when they could be out there doing something about it.

I think they have shielded us from seeing just how bad it could have been, though the amount of people affected by the wars monetarily is quite a lot smaller than in the days of WWII where every man and woman was working to support the troops. Also, we have been at war for the last 11 years so the effect on the economy was already in place before the recession began.

That depends on how you look at it doesn’t it. Whether you are a glass is half full or half empty type of person. Am I better off now then 4 years ago??? The answer would be NO i had a job and a retirement 4 years ago.

<O:p</O:pWould I have been worse off if we would have continued the practices and policies that got us here in the first place over the prior 8 years time period with 2 unfunded 10 year old wars and deregulations HELL YES.

Of course, that one is a little tougher sell because there is no proof of how bad it could have become even though there is every indication that it would have been. Plus it doesn’t work as a political sound bite very well.

im sure some are better off.medical.bankrupt lawyers.brown nosers.food stores.gov workers with free bennies.companys selling cheap garbage from china.and 1 or 2 normal average people like ruff :)

Don't forget Wall Street. Big Oil companies and Big Business Snowmobiler

They are doing way better then they were four year ago. They are not saying that because that would mean they would have to pay .04 percent more in taxes.

They are now trying to buy the election so they will have freedom from paying any taxes at all on the money they have made and stashed in offshore tax shelters. the last i heard it was around 2 trilloon dollars being held in offshore accounts by big business. A beautiful scheme really!!

Why don't you work harder and get a bit smarter and maybe you could be rich and hated by the rest of the left. Oh I bet you would want to stop at $250K income so you would not be seen as rich. There is no reason to keep pushing for the top... right? The top 10% already pay 70% of the total federal taxes, so bleed them some more right? 40% of Americans in the 90 pay no taxes at all, but that’s okay with the left.
This rich bashing is simply anti American! I guarantee you there are thousands of people in other countries who WILL come here and be rich, and I say, good for them!

I read all my post in this thread again 3 times and i still dont see where i stated I hated the rich or anything close to it. Better yet please point out where i said I hated the rich so that i can go back and correct my statements.

Oh that’s right!!!! that was your own bias interpretation on what I was saying. So stop spouting off political talking points please.

Don't worry about it. Some people are just waiting for any opportunity to show how much in love they are with rich people. They probably give out bj's to them when the see them on the street. Lol

You seem to be hung up on the word hate. A reader of your posts would be hard pressed to not understand your distain for those better off than you. Call it what you want. So instead of mincing words, look at the facts, if you can.

Your reply shows your lack of intelligence. I knew your were not very bright after reading your first post, but you just keep on giving.

Crap. I was supposed to have some spelling mistakes in my post. Lesson learneded.

Again i looked back and did not find anywhere where I talked about rich people’s clothes. I am again at a loss here. However lets get one thing clear. On the record, I have never stained nor have I tried to distain any rich people’s clothes as oregonsledder is implying in his post

<O:p</O:pAND to go even further I don’t Disdain rich people either.

you do realize that not everyone can be rich right? And what is wrong with making the rich pay more in taxes? Is it going to kill the wealthy that they can only have 2 houses instead of the 3rd condo in Florida? I guess when there are poor kids out on the street begging for food you wouldn't give the "peasants" anything because you pay enough in taxes as it is.

If I was making 5 million dollars a year I would gladly pay 2.5million in taxes. Sure, I lose some of my buying power, but I would gladly pay to keep the institution which has allowed me to become so successful running and to pay for the soldiers who keep me safe every day and those less fortunate than I am.
