First car!

My first car was a Mercedes Benz sport coupe, full leather, sunroof, hardwood trim!!!
Mind you I got my license in 1993 and the Benz was a 1978!!!! Mom bought it brand new, and kept it for myself, and then 2 years later my sister. By the time we both had the money to buy our very own cars that poor Mercedes Benz looked like it had been to Hell and back.

16 years old and a $30k car????? Hmmm, I'm 35, have a mortgaged home, Own a business that took me 8 years to build that barely breaks 6 figures, Wife works full time as an MA/assistant office manager at the cancer center and I might be able to sell both of our cars together for $30k.

If your priveleged enough to be handed a $30k car free and clear (I don't believe for 1 second that you've got $22k, unless somebody died and gave it to you) then I would suggest you give your dad a big hug and a kiss. You might be fooling the kids in your class, suggesting that the car is yours, however, the teachers as well as any other adult will know who really bought it.

Mitten cracks me up!
And to think I responded to another one of his threads (haha haven't been on SW in a while!).

Anyone ever had a Chevy Chevette, DIESEL?

My buddy had one. Red 4 door. BLACK tinted windows.
It was awesme. He put WIDE back tires on it and jacked it up a couple inches. Put a sound system in it with 15" subs. LOL.

Imagine THAT thing cruising Higgins Ave in Missoula on Fri and Sat night with a 4-some of eager swinging dks.

Good lord, we would've chased you dorks right out of town!

First car: '66 Pontiac GTO I paid $1800 for, and it still sits in my garage.

subaru's are excellent cars. fast, and reliable. theyre awd system is sick and solid.

i bought an 89 subaru legacy for fun, and the water pump has been going out for 2 years now. not completely busted yet. it circulates water, i just have to put about a gallon of water in a day. the odometer relapsed once, and is was at 96k miles, and now its at 113k, and the waterpump is still circulating water. but still leaks of course..

point is, 30 grand can be spent on something really cool, but it might ask you to spend another few grand if it gets cranky. they dont make cars like they use to now days..

so in my opinion, ur best bet would be a subaru of some sort, or a truck. truck, preferably a dodge cummins diesel so u can haul ur sleds and trailer and haul a$$ while doing it :)

I don't think longevity is a concern of yours...that's a bunch of vehicles for a young feller. :face-icon-small-ton

Oh, either way works.

Some have hitches, some have sled decks. Just depends on what color im thinking for the day...

1001 hp gets up the mountain pretty damn quick, ill tell you that!:face-icon-small-ton

Too bad my Pagani would woop that Veyron all day every day.

As several ppl already posted buy something cheap first- especially for high school!!

My first car was a 83' izuzu Trooper; had 189k and a back seat that folded flat :face-icon-small-ton. I beat the hell out of it - jumped it, drown it in the river, hit a deer, rubbed it against trees, trashed the interior, hauled friends around, and I even met the girl who is now my wife in it! Man I had some fun in that rig!!

My suggestion is to buy something cheap that suits your needs that has some miles and some light damage, makes the blow a lil softer when u f-#* it up

And save the rest of that cash for down the road.

Even that obnoxious Zonda R isn't beating a new Veyron Supersport. Not 0-60, not top speed, not around Nürburgring. Maybe an older Veyron, but not an SS.

Shoot, an old Barabus TKR will smoke that Zonda.
