Rode north and south of the highway at Eureka yesterday. There was about the same amount of snow as there was when we rode at the end of January, but it was wind blown. Trails were hard-packed. Swamps were marginal. We were surprised by something solid each time we went boon docking. Needs more snow to play around off the trails. Lunch at the Lodge was good though.
Took some visiting friends and relatives from back east out to Monument on Saturday, and it was windblown with gravel showing. Tried south of the highway toward the glacier, and the swamps were windblown. We found some good - not great - riding off the trails heading toward Lake Louise on Sunday. The snow in the valleys around the trees was deep enough to have some fun, especially for our visitors who are used to fast trail riding. The main trails were hard-packed but pretty smooth. It was about 10 below zero at night and 10 above during the day.
I went up Wednesay through Sunday and had a blast, found good snow in the valleys and tore it up. Without pictures it is worthless!!!!!! The pic's don't show how good it was!
looks like the big o ?..maybe the ridge below twin peaks looking off to the south west?
