dang you already did my motor and my son is 3 so I think he is a little young, great thing to do Dan. the edge rmk did come out in 02, they had the xc edge chassis in 01.

good on you Dan! We need to get kids working w/ their hands and excited about the sport.

Going to need another one here Dan... my buddy broke his 800 crank at the Fairview Shootout this morning.

Last Wednesday, On my very first ride ever with my four year old boy, my crank on my 03 escape engine in an 02 edge broke.
Even though we had to be towed out he had so much fun and is constantly talking about going again. I don't have the heart to tell him that I don't have the money to fix the sled and we wont be going again this year.
He is a little young but any time I am working on the sled he is there handing me tools that I don't need at that particular time. :)
I know my situation isn't what you were looking for I just thought I would share. Hopefully I have some money to get one of your kits for next season.

This is really cool. I rode with my dad for almost 25 years.

BTW, the bottom end of the motor out of my 03 Vertical Escape is packed up and will be shipped out this week.

Younger

I am glad to see Dan stepping it up to help get younger people into snowmobiling.

Yea, The older i get the more I realize how important it is to keep the kids involved in this sport and doing things with their Dad & Mom.

Nice to see people like the idea of the Father/Son thing.

I am a paraplegic sledjunky

Well............I am going to try and say this without getting to emotional.

There has been alittle inside story developing about this goingvertical SW memeber that even he doesn't know yet.

A few days ago a snowest memebr contacted me VIA Private message, and he said he would like to get this gentalmen with the handicap sled up and running so he can get back out riding with his son.

He also said he would pay for the motor. ( choked me up to say the least ).

I ran into a guy a few years back in Cooke City that rode a crazy Mountain extreme sled and he was paralized. It was fasinating to chat with & see this guy ride his sled. He strapped himself on and away he went.!!!!

Ok, I was alittle concerned that his son was already a growen man and maybe this was alittle outside the age i was hoping to see for a father/son/daughter project.

At any rate, I am going to work with this kind gentalmen ( who didn't want to be mentioned ) who made the offer.

And we are going to get him a motor rebuilt and get him & his son back on the snow.

This will not affect the contest.

I do not want to any credit for this, This was not my idea.

However I must say that it is sure a heart warming feeling to be involved.

I would like to thank you all for this, this is a Snowest thing.

And a part of all of you snowmobilers as a whole are to credit for this.

without the business from Snowest this wouldn't be possible.

Thanks, Dan

at loss for words

I tried to type a response to this post about 6 times and still am just "stumbling" (hahah paraplegic joke on self) through how and what to say... Very emotional. To Indydan and whomever all I can say is thanks for at least considering and caring. Ummm, I talked with my son earlier in the week and he was pumped. I never was able to run and tackle him in the yard doin Dad and son things but this is one thing we did do. The grins on his face will always stay with me... Tore up, unable to type.

credit

Indydan, you said you wanted no credit for what has transpired because of your contest, well, you are wrong. Its because of YOU, and other SW members this happened. Accept the credit and smile because you probably just helped create an atmosphere on SW that should make all members and especially you proud. We do care about our sport, families, and SW members we might never even see or meet. Congrats.
On another note...last year I underwent two surgeries, one for cystic myelopathy, and another 5 days later to stabilize spine. (It sucked **s). My days are limited compared to the rest of the pop. No sympathy wanted or accepted, but man, I wanted to win this contest to keep my sanity and hope up. When I "go" I want the skies blue, the snow deep, and my friends and son to be there knowing I went out Dale Earnhardt style. I will try to emulate Indydan and the rest of you good people on SW by looking out for one another,no matter the cost.

p.s. you made my wife cry(shes a wimp :) ) and proud.

Dans doing good things. wish i had a 800 polaris

When i got a 440 in 97. I got a clutch kit put in. 1 year later it went bad he charged me for parts no labor to fix thanks dan.

p.s. shakopee is still the same.

by God Dan you and the silent SW guy or gal are indeed fine stand up folks and not just a credit to the sport, but to humanity as a whole.

Sure hope I can have the pleasure of getting you to work magic on my sled someday.

Well Dan, I was going to give you crap for no Mother/Son inclusion, but after Silent SW Guy (as we are now calling him) got involved and your response, I am incredibly touched and at a loss for words.

I have been absent lately with a new job and just tired of all the BS, but it is contests like this and people like Silent SW Guy that make this 4M so awesome. I have seen so many dreams fulfilled and beyond; and I have seen so many come together and help so many people that they have never met. This is truely a great place. Now I really am at a loss for words.

Thank you so much Dan.

WoW!

Special Thanks to the silentsnowesterner and Dan!

I have had the pleasure of meeting goinvert a few years back when running parts for myself, this kind of karma seems to come full circle. Good Stuff!:)

SIMPLY AMAZING!

DAN AND SILENT GUY.... YOU ARE TOOOOOOOOOOO  FOR WORDS. MAY LIFE BE MANY :D FOR BOTH OF YOU!

Big Props!!!!

Dan you are a class act that more people need to emulate. Silent snowester,I hope that God blesses you for your kindness. Heres to ya both for making this world a little less ugly.

Tracking Number

1ZA4Y5390397893701

Ladies & gentalmen here is the tracking number for Ty's Motor, It left here this afternoon. You can all watch where its at.

My hats off to you all, and your words are to kind. The true credit here really goes to EricW here on Snowest, ( I just don't think its fair that he goes unknowen. ) It wasn't until Eric Pm'ed me that I reallized that he was paralized ( I had missed that in his post, I just quickly read it and was somewhat touch by the Son in school thing & he had to sell the motor, ( and I missed the whole just of the stroy. ) When i read Erics PM I saw what I had missed, Eric's kind gesture went right to my heart and he truely deserves all the credit.

I can't tell you all how much i enjoyed putting his motor together this might just have done me more good then it has TY.

Thank you EricW

Sorry Eric I just couldn't let you go unknowen, The mere fact that you wanted to be not mentioned makes this story even better then I could have imagined.

Good luck Ty, there are many people that PM'ed me that want to know if you needed help with the install.

Ty informed me that he and his Son could handle it, And maybe thats best if they do it themselves. Ty if you need help just ask.

Thats all.

Dan
