I finally opened up this thread and am very happy that I did.
I seriously am sitting here getting choked up over all the kindness and generosity that has been displayed.
It is always great when people reach out and help those in need.
All involved truly will be blessed.
In another forum I am a member of a girl had her motorcycle stolen and a bunch of members pitched in, bought her a bike and delivered it to her!

Great bunch of peeps on snowest!:)

Eric W

I have been busy trying to prep sled for new engine from Indydan and EricW, so havent had much time to respond. Would just like to say to Eric, THANK YOU sir! I am sure we both know how "normal" snowmobiling makes us feel. I dont strap myself on or in my sled, mostly outta pride. I try to ride with my crazy buddies and follow them w/e they go. Most of the time I DO get it done but sometimes... Anyhow it will be an emotional first ride for me and my son and whomever accompanies us. I am patiently waiting for the lil fart to show up sometime today so he can get his hands dirty. There is no way for me to repay moneywise the thing you have done for us, but somehow, someday, you and I will meet and then you will know that what you and Indydan have done went far beyond what was expected. "Thanks" just isnt the word you guys deserve. I dont know any other words to replace it,so it will have to suffice for now. Maybe I can help dig you out, guide you to a fun place to ride, or maybe we will just sit at the summit of a hill after pullin a "full noise" climb and watch the sun shine on us knowing people like you keep this world turning. I know the "snowgods" have reserved 1st class seats for you and Dan.

p.s. would also like to thank all who pm'd with offers of assistance and encouragement.

Ty:

The only reponse you needed, you already gave. In a time where Father/Son connect is more important then ever, I know that many of us have never faced the tough decisions/consequences that you wrote about. I think many people have never had to feel or deal with financial challenges (my self included) to that level, or they simply have never had or developed the sacrifice for others mentality that you have a bucket of.

Just hearing your story and the tough choices and circunstances that you deal with make me ashamed for the times I thought I had a bad day. I can't imagine not helping someone who inspires a person like you have me if you are in a position to be able to.

To make this all a win/win, I've had the chance to meet and speak with Indydan who is a first class guy, as well as SnowXTC who has a heart of gold, and some day soon my boys and I will be meeting and riding with YOU and your Son! I have shared your story and your strength with my whole family and we will all benefit from knowing you as will many that have read this story. It takes steel to sharpen steel my friend, and I think I speak for many when I say your examples could put a little finer edge on us all.

Just so everyone will know, Indydan donated way more than half of this project, he made it real easy for me, and its been a pleasure to get to know ya Dan. I think Ty's place is about 1/2 way for us both. Maybe a road trip in the future? Lets not forget too, that Dan is still going forward with his original contest that he will be floating 100%. At this point, if Dan sold tennis shoes, I'd buy mine from him. I wish there was more like ya man.

Give me a call when you can Ty, I would love to talk shop and make some plans. Thanks for allowing us to share in your efforts to be a committed father and great role model for your son. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. EW 509-680-4335

let us know were your ride will be, maybe some of us westers, myself included can bring our sons along amd make it a great day, i know my boys buggin me to ride one more before it gets too warm being 10 i usually take him to kings hill which is just up the road from goinvert's place, if we can get a ride goin i can get a thread started in the mt. section and get as many father and sons together that are here, would be SWEET, just a thought

Where do you ride?

Goinvertical,
Is that Harlowton MT? Where do you guys ride? crazies, little belts? I have been following this thread since it started and am glad I got on this forum this year. Great story and great people involved. Don't know if you have ridden around Bozeman much, but if you need some ideas on places to go, or even a sub par guide PM me and I would be happy to show you guys around. Maybe when you and EricW get together for a ride you might make your way down here. Don't mean to butt in, just some food for thought. Anyways, kudos to all involved, makes ya feel good knowing there is still some "good stuff" out there.

This is one of the best threads I've read here in a long, long, time.

Kudos to you folks who made this happen.:beer;:):sun:

Eric, man I'd buy shoes from you and Dan both even if they were missing the soles.(sorry just no need for a tug operator in MN) You two are 100% class acts that we can all learn from.

Ty you too are a class act and I hope that someday I will be the father to my children that you are to your son.

Good Stuff here!

Ty, did ya get that motor today...

aeb, well have to hook up sometime and show ya what we have. might have to blindfold ya tho...:face-icon-small-win

sounds fair to me spud.

My dad lives outside of Belt, I have thought of going up to Kings Hill, but never seem to make it, tough when you have pretty good riding 20 minutes from bozo. Definitely would like to ride some new area though.

Yes! I did receive the motor today! I was kinda busy tryin to get stuff ready to ship so wasnt on as much as norm. The things a beauty, I am gonna post a picture of what was inscribed on the cases as I feel this was as important as Indydans whole idea of the contest. My wife is so proud of you people she still gets teary eyed. My son had the nerve to say "lets get crackin!" Anyhow, she might not bark for us tomorrow because I was caught un-prepared, but I will say she's gonna howl later on even if we gotta do them crazy night rides. My biggest concern is that my son might now have to wait for me to catch up from now on! Grrrrr.
