Chain case life Gen 5

Every time I see one of these I am shocked how long that chain is. Other brands have barely any distance between the gears.

it has to be that long to give it that skidoo feeling (you up over top of all these spinning things)

What's the chain case life looking like on the 850NA's? It it only the turbos that is suppose to have the HYVO chain?

Gen 5 165 freeride NA. Currently at 650 miles. Tightened it for the first time at about 300 miles.

Never had to adjust it again.

I think some people are overtightening them constantly causing unnecessary pressure.

Been riding hard since 0 miles

And a full flow ported chain case I see!

To me this split shaft is a solution looking for a problem, as it's not, to me at least, the chain case side that causes the most swearing when changing tracks on these machines.

Shocked in a pleasant way, Replacement 1 piece driveshaft and new chaincase here and ready to install. Pretty great service, Thanks Skidoo.

I noticed BRP part finder has 2024 sleds. No change noted in chain case area.

Suppose to get my sled back next week. Will be repaired with hyvo. There are 8 other Gen 5/lynx currently sitting at my dealer waiting for various chain case parts. Couple broken drive shafts as well. One guys chain snapped and whipped under the hood smashing a lot of the electronics and the fellas knee. Skidoo is unfortunately setting them selves up for legal trouble. My dealers hoping skidoo has a recall coming for all 2023 and addresses the 2024 sleds before they hit customers in the fall.

When my sled went down in February my dealer said he will be putting hyvo in.

I'm very disappointed I bought a 2023, first off it's a fantastic sled when all is right. But it left me stranded this year with some kind of electrical issue and now I need to spend several hundred dollars of my own money to fix this stupid chain case issue.

don't bet on him replying. if he does, the response will only be what BRP allows him to say which is understandable as an employee.
