Chain case life Gen 5

So I guess what you are saying as long as you maintain your track tension according to the manual you will never have issues with your drivers or ratcheting.

It may ratchet no matter how tight your track is depending on riding situation. And when it happens you get the damage. If the track is too tight you might break the rods. Drivers are problem mostly for aggressive riders what I have seen over the years, most people don't have problems.

dave,
what are the engineers saying about this whole situation if you “talk to them all the time”?
honest question and would love a candid answer as there are many of us that would like to know.

There was a video on Facebook where one of them said they were looking into the issue and would address it for 2024, but no details were given.

There will probably be few details since Doo is likely hoping that by the time a bunch of riders have issues their sleds are out of warranty.

This chain case issue seems similar to when Doo had the belt issues with the G4 and made changes to the sheaves and venting going forward and was reluctant to make all those fixes for people who had bought the prior year's sleds.

Can it be that it is not if the chain or case is going to fail but when ?Dave does bring up a point about people buying up all the Hyvo chain and gears, but i hope that is not like all the people that bought up toilet paper during covid

I have a few sets of hyvo gears and chains both used if someone is in need . 51/21 or 51/19 or 53/21 with 116 pin chains they are both used low kms . Also have a handful of chain case covers these are from sleds I did belt drives on for customers and they didn’t want their old parts .
What kind of luck have you had with the belt drive system? If the two piece driveshaft is a problem with the chain, is it not also a problem for the belt drive?

Dave Norona should stick with describing new snowmobile models, accessories, how to take off side panels, attach skis / boards etc. It’s evident his understanding on the technical side is lacking. Just one example “ the clutch vent is breaking on Gen 5 cause guys are riding in low snow conditions”. When it comes to mechanical understanding / technical review Doo should look elsewhere.

I could use your hyvo 21/53-116 set. Are you able to ship them out tomorrow? How do I get ahold of ya?

What top gear from TKI have you been using?

Every time I see one of these I am shocked how long that chain is. Other brands have barely any distance between the gears.

It's time for a recall on this junk!! The Muskoka Freerider group had one break in the air while jumping. The guy almost got crushed.
another instance of the supposed non-issue. saw that clip on his latest video and that guy could have gotten pretty jacked up.
