Hey kootenay boy's and girlz! On bealf of the Boundary snowmobile club I 'm inviting you all to come to our Grand Forks Poker run this next sunday march 2nd. Ride in memory of Dave Brousseau, our club pres of 10+ years was killed in an avy this jan. We're raising money to fix his sled that we recovered. The ride is 10 miles up the northfork from grand forks then 2 miles up brown creek rd and entry is at the bottom of passcreek rd. Lots of good riding up there. Easy access for the whole familly as well.

We're gonna do our best on this ride but Dave used to do all of this stuff virtually by himself.Hope to see some of you peeps! Cheers, Ken

Hey Ken, Have you guys talked to the Christina Lake club and the Sno-Goers?
Was talking to a few of them and they were kicking around the idea of putting together a trail ride from the Paulson summit over your way down into Chr. Lake. Would be cool to continue right over from the Paulson summit into Gladstone area and into GF area. It would be a cool interclub run. Something to think about for next year?

What?!!! No snow?!!! My old man said he went up Smallwood at Slocan on the weekend and had 6" of fresh. Maybe not in GF, but the Chrs Lake guys and GF club could run up from the west and the Sno-Goers could run in from 12-mile on the Paulson. Meet up half way and have a weenie roast or something. Maybe at the gravel pit at Bonanza?

There was enuf snow at the end of Jan to do it, guessing there is more now up there?! Sorry, I'm 8 hrs away and living vicariously through you guys.....
Maybe its wishful thinking. I'll be back at the end of March to shred all your good snow that is left, so better track it up b4 I get there! :)

Next time someone heads up to ladybird let me know, i'm new to the area and i haven't been into a lot of the local sled areas yet!

Saturday morning, March 22nd, about 10:30 am I 'll take you up the ski hill (Red)......we'll see if the patrol can catch us on their Tundra's!!! LOL

Seriously though, I'll be back at the end of March for a week for some nice spring riding. I'll send you a PM when heading out and I can introduce you to my old man (still lives there) if you like. He rides quite a bit and knows a lot of guys that do as well.

Haha ya... i was already up there when they closed last year and up until they opened in December this year, such a great thing to be able to sled on your local ski hill. I can ride right out of my backyard up to the hill so i can't wait to tear it up this spring!

Send me a pm though before you head out next. I'm out of commission for a week or so til i get my new pipe... the stock one cracked and blew a big hole in the side

I donno how legit it is, but i know the boys always head up there after easter weekend. I believe thats when red always closes. My first ride on the 7 was up Red....the night before they opened lol. Probably not so good for our reputation, but seemed like a good idea at the time, and was a blast.

Which club side? Aren't they grooming from up Pass Creek? Turn off before the Norn's? Ladybird Creek Rd I think? And they only groomed it twice? I would have thought they groomed it twice a month?

uuhhmm norns road is ladybird creek, goose creek road is club cabin (shaw cabin),and they dont groom tiwce a month, they groom ladybird twice a month cuzz less people go up that way,but they groom goose creek once or twice a week.

Can we unload from your place and ride the hill? I'm into a ride up there after they close for sure if I can do that!

And what kind of sled are you riding? My '01 800 Summit pipe cracked this season and blew a big piece out on the bottom side. Bought a good used one from Bob at Playmor.

Kevin

Let me know about the hill ride, haven't been up there in years.

In the past I have simply asked them and they have let us go. Since some of it is private property and some is public, you really should be asking. Our reputation will suffer if we just ride and assume that no one can stop you. They never cared in the past about it, I think it shows some respect and that is all they are looking for. They know deep down they really can't stop you since some of it is public, but like I said, we have always asked just out of common courtesy.

I have an 05 Summit 800 and a big piece of pipe blew out the top... I found a few used ones on the swap meet.

Ya, you can get right up to the hill from my house, right now anyways, i'm not sure how much snow there will be in april though. Myself and quite a few other sledders in town ride the hill up til the day before it opens and start again the day it closes. It was really funny gioing there last year with my buddy, We backed up beside the red chairlift, unloaded the truck and left it there beside the 6 other trucks that had unloaded. I've never seen anything like it but it was a ton of fun. We're respectful about it though, you can't ride like an idiot down in the lodge area, common sense kinda stuff.

The word is they close after easter weekend every year. At least the past few i was told... Apparently "link line" is the place to go to bust your stuff up? lol
