castlegar area

Ahh too Bad have 3 on and room for 1 more. Ya leaving the city in about an hour as well, just in time for rush hour. it's pointed west to the hills that's all that counts.
have good one.

Heading to Salmo this evening and hooking up with 2 others for riding on the weekend be scouting around upper Erie Creek and Grassy area maybe on Saturday see how it looks. Like to get into some good riding areas but ya these conditions are just not the best.
If anyone has some other suggestions let us know can hook up some where in the area.
Have a 18’ trailor with so need some turn around space or we can ride out from the cabin over to Bombi or Grassy call Dave (403) 870-2524
Hay Coxy you mentioned Chinese food is that the place in Fruitvale was there last time seemed pretty good or is there another in Castelgar / Trail?

If you head up Erie, you should try Stewart pass area and north of the bridge over Stewart ck (where it leaves Erie road). Couple of guys blazed a trail up to the ridge so you can ride right down to top of Porto Rico road, then up and over and down into Barret lake. Just watch the conditions, not sure how stable it is.

And the Hi-light is definitely like going back in time! Their food also tastes best when you're walking out of the bar at 2am! :D There is a second place in C-Gar, Chopsticks, last time there it was awesome and always see the parking lot full. It's right on Columbia ave just down from the old RCMP building. In Fruitvale there is that chinese place on the main drag, not bad. And the Villagers is supposed to have good chinese too. Just watch you don't get shot in there!

Koot-Cat is correct. I was speaking of Chopsticks. They had a bit of a down spell, food kind of just got so-so, but is really good again. Got a couple friends who work there, and apparently just brought in a couple new cooks, so it should be real good again. And yeah, man that place is almost always booming. As for Hi lite.....ive never been drunk enough to go there yet lol.

Good Morning All:

Went on my first ride from "Club Side" yesterday. Had a ball all day. We stopped at the cabin just at dark for a little heat and BS'n. I left the tunnel bag on my sled unzipped when I left the cabin. I didn't notice until it was in the trailer.

Somewhere just below the cabin there should be a pair of amber Scott 89 xi goggles, a Fox Float air pump with gauge, and a variety of junk food and Gatoraid.

If anyone saw or picked any of those up, I would sure appreciate a shout. Congrats on the new groomer, you guys have a great club that creates a great opportunity. Ride safe. EW 509-680-4335 EricW@centurytel.net

Oh man...i cant even look at that! Those are the types of days up there that a guy outwaits the stumps and creeks for...gatdayum! Beautifulllll

A few pics of the boys gettin some air on Sunday. had to go local, didn't get Weston's sled fixed till midnight or so. Lookin forward to the next ride up North.

ps Talked to a friend from Colville at the A&W Sat night, he said his group unloaded at the Nourns and dropped into Russel Lake. Sounded like a risk with current conditions, but he said he didn't see any new slide activity.

A little air time:

i thought so, but he was touring up in silverton yesterday, thunderstruck was up ladybird yesterday also, have you been into marble or grady this year koot-cat?how was it?

Haven't been into Grady for a month or so, trail is like a highway. Not sure if anymore slides have come down there. Haven't heard of anyone hitting Marble yet, the groomer as far as I know hasn't gone down Granite ck and those alders were wicked last summer. Hopefully they are knocked down by now. Sorry, not much help!

Got up into Marble Sunday later in the afternoon we had been doing a fair bit of riding below in the tree line then hit the trail up made a few runs on the hill still a bit leary on the conditions never seen any evidence of naturals on any slopes few other riders said was a good riding all around the area. Rode up from Erie / Granite Creek the trail was all good from the cabin lot's of moose on the trail rounded a corner and one was comming at us! no where to go
Tuesday did Craigtown Creek man it was warm up there, yet again we did a few short runs up between the trees but never accessed the alpine had a new rider with us so took it easy. Heli Ski was flying in the area and over towards Dominion Mtn.
No go for us into Grassy or Stewart Pass on this ride, sounds like it would be a good one up and over into Barrett Lake for sure. Have to check that one out when all is right.

Ya sounds good on the Chinese food thanks we'll check it out!

Hey kootenay boy's and girlz! On bealf of the Boundary snowmobile club I 'm inviting you all to come to our Grand Forks Poker run this next sunday march 2nd. Ride in memory of Dave Brousseau, our club pres of 10+ years was killed in an avy this jan. We're raising money to fix his sled that we recovered. The ride is 10 miles up the northfork from grand forks then 2 miles up brown creek rd and entry is at the bottom of passcreek rd. Lots of good riding up there. Easy access for the whole familly as well.

We're gonna do our best on this ride but Dave used to do all of this stuff virtually by himself.Hope to see some of you peeps! Cheers, Ken
