Carbed 2 stroke turbo guy's !!!

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
No avgas doesn't burn up 2 strokes. There are pros and cons to it like everything. Some guys love it and some don't. There is a great avgas thread if you do a search. Just really depends on what octane you need.

that's what I thought. Hear of a lot of guys running av gas. I'd just like to be able to turn the boost up a little higher and not have to worry about it. Cheaper than race gas too.

I run av gas all the time in my turbo.

only issue with av gas is trying to read plugs and piston wash

finally finished reading this thread, soooo helpful, it makes it seem like i just bought someones kit and put it on my sled, it gave me the confidence to tackel what my sled needed, to put on the recommended parts, prime the fuel, pull the rope and ... ok second pull, it's alive, boost rises, fuel press. rises, 4500 track spins, no bog, 5500, 6000, boost came up to 10#, 8000, where the hell did 7000 go?

thank you so much for this fun!

Hey Guys. I don't know if anyone is still following this post but I need some opinions.

On a 93 exciter 570 (yes...exciter)... running about 12 lbs on a 53 series aero what jetting would you guys suggest. I've added the powerjets and UFO's to the carbs.

Stock jetting is

310 Main
42.5 Pilot
Fuel Screw at 5/8
Carbs are Mikuni 38 mm round slides.

Riding elevation is 8,000-11,000 roughly. Mountain riding.

If it helps at all I am running a full size 3071 on an 800R and using 350 mains. Stock was 460 or 480 I believe. I am running 540s on my 800R Trygstad ported sled too.

Hmmmmm.....I'm thinking I need to drop down to the 200's somewhere then.... hard to say.

Doo's have DPM prior to turbo. I doubt you need anywhere near that much drop in jet size. Better to start off safe and work backwards.

Hey guys. Tell me about your fuel pumps and regulator setups.

So I have the aeromotive regulator. Are you guys using a second regulator and a return line to the tank to keep the supply to the first regulator at a steady pressure or are you just plumbing the the pump straight into the regulator with no return line and just letting the pump run till it pumps to full pressure? I'm not sure how these pumps work. Do they just pump until they hit a certain pressure and stop pumping?

You will need a 1:1 regulator with a return back to the tank. Set fuel pressure roughly at 3-5psi at idle.

Riiiiiight.....Holly shiz! I just realized how dumb I've been.....For some reason I was thinking the 3-4 PSI was where you plumb the return line....so dumb! Moving on!

Since this thread is still alive, I'll throw one out there. What's the best way to design a collector for a triple piped 2 stroke setup? do all the pipes off the expansion chambers have to be equal length? I've read posts that say to mount the turbo really close to the end of the expansion chamber.
