Unfortunately there's a lot of snowmo buisness that have great products but horse chet service..Crank Shop, MMP, BOSS.
I think part of the problem is most people don't start buying their chet unitl Fall and these companies get bombarded throughout the Winter.
Not making excuses for these people but I think if more people would buy there chet in the off season some of these places might have better service in the Winter.
Until that happens I will only buy from the places mentioned from a reputable dealer.

My uncle put a boss nos efi controller on his m1000 in winter 06-07 and last Nov. he called boss nos because he could not get his sled to run right. They gave him the run around so he went to his sled riped out the box and ordered a boon docker box and love the boon docker box.

5 of us all bought BOSS nitrous kits all at once. All for different year REVS, and an XP.
except so far, not one of us has been able to get one to run right.
We all installed them seperately, and are talking about some experienced tuners, here. So, we've ruled out incorrect installation...
Plus, a couple guys are just updating from an old Boondocker setup(supposed to be better)
Boss' "tech support" has sort of been helpful, but we've had to move our Nozzles a bunch of times, and had to plug holes in carb boots and such....
Basically, Its Feb. We've been messing with these things since early Dec. and still nothing.
There is NO WAY this "new kit" was tested on any REV or XP, because they have no idea why it won't work, and how to keep the DPM or the Knock sensor to not pick up the extra boost (yes, we've tried a million different mixtures of VP 110)
When you hit the button, it pops and farts and backfires out the exhaust... badly
Basically BOSS SUCKS!!
After an 800 dollar kit, many hours, and a whole lotta long distance calls... We still have nothing!

I have a Boss TFI controller also. I have experienced the same problems as you with NO support now for three years. I wont buy another Boss product including seats, which I like alot. I'm not positive but my tfi box is probably what is wrong with my sled this year. I don't even want to call them for support and get the run around BS. Their customer service sucks @ss. It should be as good or better than their products. If you can't support what you sell, don't sell it. Earth to Boss come in Boss! You obviously think you are on a better planet than your customers.

You guys should buy nitrous systems from the innovators not the imitators. N.O.S. invented the modern nitrous system, their systems are proven time and time again in the auto racing world. Their kits, with a few accessories, work perfectly on snowmobiles contrary to what BOSS and Boondockers want you to believe.

Shoulda went with Boondockers to begin with. A little more expensive, but their stuff flat out works. They sell what they use and they don't try to get their hands in to many different pies! Sorry to hear about your beef with them. I had a buddy that sent in his box and they are gonna send him a new one. Hopefully it'll work, but I doubt it!
Let me start off by saying, in 5 seasons and 3 sleds using BOSS-NOSS I have never had a major issue and the system has always ran flawless. I have seen personally way more systems working as designed then systems that have failed. With that being said:

Their bread and butter has always been the loyal snowmobilers but it's the snowmobilers that always get screwed. I could go on for pages and pages about the inner working of BOSS Inc. and how screwed up they are, but it will not serve any real purpose. Gus and Chet are really decent guy's that do try hard to service everyone to there best but do to lack of resources and leadership they fall sort at times. Chet was BOSS's punching bag,
and after 2 or 3 years of getting beat up he couldn't take it anymore and had to leave. It's to bad because he really loved what he did there and was extremely loyal to the company spending many 12 hr days at work but only getting paid for 8 hrs.
The owner is amazingly gifted at dreaming up concepts and putting his creations into production but he is not a business man. He wants to be surrounded by "yes men" and when people stop saying yes he quickly has no more use for them. If Boss Inc. could afford to hire a real business manager, production manager and about 5 to 10 more production and customer service reps, they could be a really Great company.

Is Boss still making Harley nitrous kits? Anyone use it? They had ads in Hot Bike for awhile, but I never spoken to anyone who tried it.

Spook I am sorry to hear that you too had a bad experience! I can not say enough bad about the company. I too fell into the spell which Boss created with the seats they used to make.. Even though it took them forever to get you your seat when you got it it was worth the money. I bragged about the seats I got and most of the people I ride with ended up with one. (Many were so pissed by the time it got to them they really didnt care about having a nice seat anymore.) Then they came out with the Nos system. It seemed like an awesome setup. Well, I got screwed just like you. I never did get mine to run right and finally gave up on it and bought a turbo instead.
The part I love the most is that with threads like these and the fact that the big 4 are finally caring about lightweight parts Boss is not going to be in business much longer (I HOPE) I know for a fact that you dont need a Boss seat on the new polaris chassis. I really dont see to many of the other 3 company's newer sleds with aftermarket seats either. Hopefully we as sledders can either make Boss nut up and be a good comapany or we can get them out of the business. I vote spend ur money at "Boondockers, Axis, or NX)
