Bogging on 2020s

Mines sputters a bit around 5000rpm. Did the 19's do the same? The crisp bottom was one of the selling points on this sled. Mines out of break in.

Both my 18 and 19 never sputtered

Thanks, going to have to look into it some more. Reminds me of my 2010 m8 (not as bad though). Was hoping it was just break in. Have roughly 180 miles and 9 hours. Ill start with some fresh plugs.

You should be out of break in

Did you have to remove the hood to check yours?
I did have the hood off. It may be possible to check them with out removing the hood but it would be alot more difficult and twice as nasty to adjust. I would not recommend to perform this task with the hood on.

Just got back from the first ride on my 2020 and have this exact same sympton as well. Its not a bog, its more like a hesitation or a stumble. Kind of annoying in the trees. I have yet to check the power valve cables so that will be first on the list.

I tested mine after the adjustment and it is alot better. Maybe not perfect but not where it will cause issues.

Mine is stock with under 2 hours, it has an issue in the same rpm range. I would not call it a bog rather erratic throttle response. It is just not smooth when going slow or slowly adding throttle. Before and after the 4000-5500 it is smooth as it should be. I am going to get through the break in and see if anything changes.
Did you get this cleared up? This is how mine is acting. I’m at 11.1 hrs now, put in a fresh set of plugs, and checked the APV valves. Still have the symptom.

Mine is working good just got back and we ran from -4 to -20 C, 2000 to 8000 ft of elevation and not a hiccup. The only thing i noticed was an elevated idle 2600 after a hard pull, I just waited a few seconds and it normalized to 1700 and then i would shut it down. It started first pull every time but one, that one i gave it some throttle on pull three and fired right up. I believe this engine need a full hard pull to start you cant get away with a half ass attempt.

Mine will bog if you blip the throttle a few times around 4500-5000, and then try to go full throttle, or if you are in full throttle, and have to back out for a second and get back in it. kind of annoying and will get you stuck.

My 18 has started to have a bog or hesitation around 4000-6000 rpm I thought maybe it was just not getting air but it just starts to sputter really bad for about 5-10 seconds and then I just let off and it seems to clear itself up but it sucks because it has caused me to get stuck! I have 870 kms now and only has been doing it on deep days and the last couple rides, also have foamed taped around my intake and siliconed my entire airbox since new so dont think its snow being sucked in! Ill check mt apv cables as well and maybe try changing plugs, does anyone know off hand what plugs are needed?

Had mine do this few times when riding on it’s side and getting close to 1/4 tank of fuel or less. I think it’s sucked air in the fuel.

I just put 10.9gal in my 19, i didn't have any bogs or any sign of not getting enough fuel, other than the gauge flashing on E.

My 20 take BPR9ES

Any of you bog guys running a can on your sled? Low fuel level can cause issues as well, the 3 smart valves can sometimes seem like 3 stooges lol

I have a diamond s titanium and had a bdx intake. I put the stock intake back on and it didnt help. Mine still bogs, i kinda want to try one of the tunes out there and see if that helps.

SLP can on mine. Fuel level makes no difference. kind of random when it does it, but is worse if i run at 4500-5000 in and out of throttle a bit and then go to full throttle. Acts like it drops one cylinder.
