The guys with desiels that smoke a lot, the only reason they are smoking that much is because they took out there catalitic converter, which is illegal, but cops don't really do anything about it.
when im at the track or watching pulls and see NADP trucks blowing more smoke than 100 treehuggers could handle... winning all the races/pulls that means they are slow and totally inefficient?
NADP doesn't seem like too bad of a builder but I'm not too impressed with their twin turbo 6.0 and how it did at the Diesel power challenge.
Like a bunch of people have said you should have a slight haze coming out of the exhaust at full throttle.

NADP is a joke. I don't claim to know everything about diesels, but last edmonton snow show I embarressed one of the guys there about the new cummins 6.7 diesel. He knew NOTHING, and just claimed to know EVERYTHING. There is a reason any real modders stear far and clear from NADP. NADP just gets the rig guys who have money to burn on their trucks and don't have any clue what is good, and just listen to NADP.
My buddy has a 08 PSD he just dropped $4,000 at NADP and now his truck does nothing but black smoke and isn't fast at all, he got exhaust, intake, and a programmer. My 04 cummins with a whole $400 in performance upgrades still lays a licking on it with a slipping clutch
i know that if i could get most of these fruits around here to line up with my chev 8.1 gasser they'd have a rude awakening.
I'm not trying to be a jerk or a smartass, but I honestly would like to see your gasser run a diesel. Don't give me wrong...I am a huge chevy fan, have owned only chevy, 5 of them in fact, 3 gassers and 2 duramax's, but I'd like to see that. What do you have done to it? You have any videos runnin it? Mad props to you if you are beating diesels with a 8.1!
I found the same thing. I asked about the Smarty programmer for my 04' CTD at the snowshow. "You don't want that, it causes too much injection rattle and its a race only programmer". Uh what? LMAO! Injection rattle? Its called timing buddy. Race only programmer? Funny, there seems to be plenty of guys using the programmer with great success on their daily drivers.
Not to mention their prices on parts are insane compared to other vendors...

There are fixes to the smoke problem.. There are several companies that are developing systems that run a mix of diesel and oxyhydrogen or natural gas. These not only increase fuel mileage but of our most recent tests we are getting near the 600 hp number at the rear wheels on an 08 dmax with absolutely no mods except the hydrogen system.. Yep you heard right, stock turbo, stock exhaust, stock intake. The only problem we have is tranny. and absolutly no smoke.. you can hardly even smell smoke.. and the turbo boosts quite quickly due to the fact that the water residue expands quickly.. and egts never reach above 1100. Were not far from releasing the technology to the public.. and the best part is... 31 mpg on the dmax.. not bad... and were making improvement almost weekly..
