Bigger engine coming THIS year?

at least cat is putting some effort into marketing the new sled, i dont remember there being this much hype about the 18 cat or alpha or any other improvements they made. Things like the hay days releases gets people fired up along with that teaser video that was posted. Cant wait to trade my m600 i dont even have yet on the big bore next year.

858, I'll take it.
I figured it would be a funny number, was thinking more like 911 or somthin

Where do you see 858 on the head? Feels like we have photo evidence of Sasquatch but just can’t quite make it out…

From Facebook, and as usual people are already complaining it’s not good enough.
To be fair, it does not appear to be boosted. Maybe that isn’t your cup of tea, but its what the vast majority of high elevation guys are buying.

People are gonna be salty ? … they are like 8 years late to the “big bore” game. It better be REALLY good.

It is what it is. I think there’s more people sticking to n/a than social media would have you believe. Either way, if it has the reliability and performance cat is known for and the catalyst is as good as all the reports claim, it should be a solid option and I’ll be happy. Maybe a turbo will follow. As to cat being “late to the game” let’s not forget cat had a 160+hp 800 in 2010 and it took 7+ years and 50 more cc for the competition to get there.

Enough said. This needs to be plastered all over social media! ?

If the Catalyst is as great as some have said, I think putting an 858 in it is more than enough to satisfy the masses, IF you can get them to give it an honest try. I know I want to try it out and if it is better than my 9r I'd probably buy one.

So many people are just dumb, plain and simple. It's pretty evident in comment sections on Instagram and Facebook. This 858 in a Catalyst could be 399 lbs with 250 hp and people would still bitch about it. Then you click on their profile and they ride a 600 indy in fields in Wisconsin.

I'm sure the turbo is coming... but they need to make it happen sooner than later. I'm sure there are people buying NAs, but when given the choice it's not here and not the folks I ride with. The dealers around here cannot keep turbos on the floor for more than a day, and they cannot get rid of NAs (not uncommon to see NEW 2022s). All of my riding group has gone to factory turbos and will not be going back.

It depends on the demographic. Under 8000', average snow, less aggressive rider- NA is great. DEEP, high altitude, the desire to do bowties anytime/anywhere, there is no replacement for boost, and people who have spent much time on it know and understand that.

I'm sure this new motor/chassis combination will be great. Catalyst looks promising. But without boost I don't think it will do anything to pull guys from Doo or Polaris. Disagree with that- but it's a fact. Pricing it extremely aggressively may change that I guess... It better not be 20k LOL.

Our group is split with nas and turbos and have even had some go back to na from turbo, however they were aftermarket turbos. I would buy a factory turbo if cat made one, I’m also fine with cat taking their time to get it right. I don’t know why everyone would rather have new crap every year vs waiting for something to be tested. Case in point: Polaris’s ten recalls this past year alone.

to me it seemed like polaris guys prefered the 9r over the 850 turbo buy a slim margin. so if cats gonna go after one sled id say they made the right choice.

How can I watch the unveil without any social media?

11% more power then ctech 800 which at 160hp would be 177hp, but they classed there’s at 165hp the last 4 yrs soo it may in fact be more power then the 9r
