Of course, Polaris gave them a lot of leeway, calling an 866 a "900" (and paid the price, I'd say!). I do hope they keep the naming simple; some of the alphabet soup that's going on is getting crazy. Ultimately, I say nobody's going to care if it's not a "900" as long it beats the current 850s and doesn't go boom much, but you're never going to convince the marketing guys. As far as I'm concerned, Cat should fire those guys and use the money to build a better sled, but then I'm not a Facebook/Tiktok/Youtube junkie...
One word will get you excited again: supercharged.Anyone else feeling the "new engine" fatigue? Been hearing about it for so long at this point it's going to be tough for me to get excited about any new powerplant unless it is something leaps and bounds better than a Polaris 900, Doo 850, and even boost. Unless there is some characteristic about it that is really different it's just playing catch up.
*raises hand*. So fatigued over hearing this or that and not knowing anything definitive, that this die hard Cat guy went and bought a 9R. My last Polaris was 1996.Anyone else feeling the "new engine" fatigue? Cat is a little behind in the displacement war. However, cc to cc, cat performance is equal or better.....
The new N/A engine, i feel, is ahead of the competition.
Just my .02....
