sandman is right, and the extra pound or two is worth it , as well remember if you have GOOD quality rubber that stretches just pry and get a little wiggle room between bumper and cooling tubes and stretch the rubber and slide it between and then let it relax,its great protection if your worried about rubbing,it shouldn;t come out but add a little adehisive if you want

LED Install

Here are some pics of my LED install - My BOSS seat came with an LED but I sometime carry a bag or extra fuel in the rack so needed to add one on the bumper. Also put a quick disconnect connnector for the power going to the seat so the seat can come on and off. I am very happy with the BDX product.

Looks nice-
So in the tail light section the bulb socket was vertical on the stock housing. this prevented the stock housing to be used on this mod since it sat on top of the tunnel... Care to share on what was done to re-vamp this to allow the entire stock assembly to be reused,,??:beer;

Broken tunnel DUE to BDX Conversion

Here is what happened to my sled using the BDX conversion.

I got the brackets and was going to install them till I saw this...Mess:mad:
I don't see any pic's of guy's using them "reinforcement" things we got for free....
I think the afterthought was sent a little to late. / what a band aid.

I drilled holes to prevent further cracking.. I only ran this conversion for 2 months, and now I cannot get BDX to return my call/or P/m's
Hopefully this will get some response...

Ouch dude.... I was thinking about the kit until I saw this. Cracking tunnels suck! :(

yo doo, thats why i went with leaving the stock bumper and modding it. you have almost the exact same support when it was stock. knew someone sooner or later was gonna crack the tunnel with the flap flopping around tweaking the tunnel in the back the way bdx says to install it. do it the sandman way and you'll have no problems, or at least i haven't:) i got the extra supports in the mail but there is no need for them with my install...

BDX- Still no reply?????????????????????????????

Sandman-
It is not only from the sno-flap bouncing around, it is from the heat exchanger now with no support moving up and down causing the tunnel to flex. Ya I got them supports also as that is when I found this issue, but them cheezy looking angle brackets are UGLY to say the least.

So when you cut up your rear stock bumper, what did you use to cut through the plastic, and in the area where the two bumper halfs come together in the middle-how did that all work out...

Still debating on what to do- but have a friend on here that is trying to make a enclousure for the rear support.

Sorry to see that Doo, time to roll out the tig. The only way you're going to get enough strength would be to throw a cross brace and box in the end of the tunnel. I know it's adding weight, but it will solve your problem and it wouldn't look bad... Funny how this thread went from high on BDX to low with 2 pics....

Best of luck

I'm more surprised that BDX is nowhere to be found. Their braces looked like band aids to me.

I really like what tundramonkey fabbed up. Cleans up the back end and strengthens it if you are not gonna run the stock snowflap/rear bumper set-up. Maybe if enough of us bother him, he will make a few extra??:beer;

On top of that enclousure

Believe it or not I had talked to him 2 weeks ago and he is making me something about like what you see above^^^^
Only that pic is on a cross fire and does not have the heat exchanger hanging out the back like on the M sleds--
so this is a first run-and a hit & miss for him.

I am still going to run the BDX bumper - that bumper was a pain for him to fab-
Looking at a rev xp I might go to that style if bumper of this doesn't work....

So alot of $$$$ spent on some rear foot brackets as that is about all I will end up using
I could have bought them from CAT from the 09 sleds.

Will let you know how it all comes out- and (if) BDX EVER STEPS UP TO THE PLATE-

Do you happen to have a PN for the 09 foot rests? That's all I'm really after too :)
