So............great story, funny banter. Anyone know how the F_ _ k the unloading area might best be utilized for this event. I thought the local club was having a meeting and was going to have some genius idea. If it is going to be a complete bungholery my group sadly won't go.

We need to see were the snow line is. we are working on having a shuttle. with parking on the downhill side of the road. And in all the wide spots like 3 year ago. We will all need to work together. Damn- ya beat me to it HPI. LOL.. SledheadPaulina sure knows how to promote the sport.

As for the Baker Shootout origin, I don't think there is any question that it was the brainchild of JSTROWS and HPI. Thanks to them and the rest of the club members, the Glacier Cruisers have been able to put their heads together and create an annual event for everyone to enjoy. Anyone that has been to the event and to Baker for that much, understands what it takes to put this on. Between the local dealers support, the US Forest Service permitting, the groomers efforts and the clubs hard work, we all look forward to this time of year.

Baker always has it's challenges and the low snow year hasn't helped any. A little cooperation and patience from everyone will go along away and this will be another huge success. Looking forward to it!!

To all going, especially for the first time, the parking is not like the Big Dawg
or Revy. One lane road and lots of trucks. Just be patient and know you will
have a great time. AND don't get pissed and the people directing traffic.......they aren't getting paid.

Looking forward to my first Baker Shootout! I've heard its a blast and thanks to the organizers for, amongst obvious reasons, holding it on my birthday! lol (All weekend I'll be secretly pretending its in honor of me) ha! HPI, you are correct. I am no history buff but I do have a good memory. The Baker Shoot Out was originally dubbed the Medium Iron Shoot Out. It was thought up by myself and HPI. The reason was simple.....show the world that our triples were more powerful than that of 4Z's. I could fill in more of the blanks but I chose not to, so don't ask for more. We still don't know who was the winner as 4Z had a little leak in his big block.

As for Blindman there were only two races he could win: 1) a drinking race. I am good but not on his level. Ruffy gets the crown for the roughest over nighter though.
2) blindman could always win the ever famous hot dog eating contest. Blessed with massive chewing speed and hand eye coordination, he could really put em down.

In closing: DO NOT QUESTION HPI ABOUT THIS AGAIN.

The racing was originally inspired by guys who wanted to push the sport, not some random guy looking to "DUBB" it the latest biz word. As this activity grew, the local snowmobile club found an opportunity to market the event and raise funds. (which I totally agree with) and have done a very good job.
Ask Doug Ruth, R-Tech, SHMO, and many others who have been around Baker for decades.
So seriously, you invented the "Baker Shoot Out"?

Yes, Really. Back then the only time I saw Doug Ruth was grass dragging (losing to Micky White) and wrenching on the trail. I have never seen SHMO with a sled that would run with mine or HPI's. R-Tech and Flydipper have always been great guys and great tuners.
My only goal for this year is to teach you how to spray n" wash your jeans. Yes, they sell bottles of it in any grocery store!

As far as a shuttle for the rigs wanting to park lower on the road and be dropped at the snow and picked up agian--Mr Prez is working on this--we are trying to get a 4 place open trailer and I am bringing my Toy truck to run up and down the hill to haul people and sleds with--but it will take patience and people staying out of the turn around up at the snow line.

Reservations are being accepted--just call me.

Just remember--everyone working this is a volunteer and that there have been hundreds of hours put into this for you all to enjoy!!

1000' or lower snow level with 2'+ of new snow expected and nice weather on saturday---

should have snow low to ride sleds up from the lowest point of the year--if not--there will be a truck and trailer to haul sleds up to the snow and back on saturday--talk to the headquarters at the snow park.
