Albany Parking Area

Maybe that’s what we all should do. Post an “Offender of the Week” photo. I don’t think some people understand the scope of the problem.

So this entire thing is getting out of hand because people need to just park your vehicle and go have fun and ride and get over it....but anyways this is a picture I took in Albany Parking area on 1/31 of Rockdog and his riding buddy parked. As you can see they are parked fine by being on the outside, parking parallel just like the sign states...but if your complaining about space? why do you and your riding buddy park far enough away where you end up taking 3 spots when you could of taken up 2. I understand you need room to load your sleds but you don't need 35 feet. But anyways this is just splitting hairs just like this entire thread has been doing for the majority of the time. But I just thought it was something good to post since the people that are complaining about everyone else is taking up just as much room or more. So give up on the complaining and just ride because you can nit pick about how everyone parks.

How do you know that it wasn't the other vehicle that parked to take up extra parking space?

Well either way they were riding with each other. Like a said this is just splitting hairs and this is how stupid these posts are getting. That is my main point here...people need to just get over it and go ride.

Nice photo. Looks more like 20 ft to me judging by the 10' trailer my buddy pulls. I noticed you didn't show a picture of how messed up the middle section was or the grey semi pulling the 12 sled trailer that took up 4 spots. We didn't camp overnight or pin anyone in and by your own admission, were parked accordingly. So what exactly was our offense? What you posted was a photo of us following the rules. Thank you. Thank you very much.

How messed up the middle section was? The middle section was parked exactly like the picture describes when you pull in the parking lot! The middle section was actually in very good shape...it even created more spaces by letting people park parallel to the berm as well as vertical to it.

As far as you being parked correctly you were doing just as the sign says, but when you complain about other people taking up too much room (in your example the semi) the same argument can be put towards yourself taking up too much room and thats what I was showing with the photo. Like this thread has gone over a billion times it is everyones park and everyone's parking lot, so a guy that brings in a semi has just as much right to use it as you bringing in your two place trailer. Do you get it yet?

I should of took a picture of where I parked. I was to scared to park in the lot so we parked 3/4 of a mile before albany on a hill on rancher ricks property.
:)

Amen to this ^^^^^^, maybe the camera cop idea is OK. LOL

USE COMMON SENSE PEOPLE !!!!!

Lol now that is hilarious! Good one lotsofsnow. Don't worry my camera is put away...I only took that one pic to try and prove a point.

By the way don't you know that at Rancher Ricks property you are supposed to park only so your truck is facing perfectly north and your trailer must be at a perfect 45* angle. Just remember that next time haha.

He had us park way up on the East hill this time, we came in on Wednesday night (in the dark :(, interstate was closed) when it was blowing bad and he did not have it cleared out by our other trailer. We did not realize how in the middle of no where we were till the next day when we came down from the cabin to get the rest of our stuff.

I'm not sure what you want from me here 08M8. As you stated in your last two posts, I was parked correctly. Your pic even shows it. Could we have been closer together saving 15 feet? I guess so. Maybe a better term than "messed up" was "full". It seems that because you have a pic of me parking (correctly), you think you have something on me. I've always advocated following the rules so I don't camp out, or park overnight, I don't pin anyone in, and I follow the suggested parking method. Once again, your own pic shows that. It would seem that you're splitting hairs.
What was your contribution to this thread? Mine was that we follow the rules. You proved that I did. Thank you again. If you would like to give me a number concerning proper spacing, I'll make sure I measure it out the next time I'm up. Are you one that leaves your rig parked overnight or camps there? If not, I still don't understand your attack on me. I'm not sure your photo had the desired effect. Maybe it did. Now that everyone knows my rig, you can bet I’ll be following the rules, but then again, I always do. Are you brave enough to post a pic of your rig so we can hold you to the same standard? I’ll bet not.

Rockdog, you have made a lot of good suggestions about the whole parking mess, but what if everyone took a extra 15' to 20'? This seems to happen at Greenrock all the time, everyone has the first come, first served, screw your neighbor attitude

I also took a picture of Rockdogs parking job. He seems to do a lot of complaining of others when he should work on his own parking. There could have been one more pickup with a two place trailer in that spot between. Just not quite enough room. Good Job!!

And another thing, you better get your eyes checked because the rig is white, not grey. Did we take up the 75 feet with the camper? Yes we did. That was for ten sleds. You seem to have taken up that much space for four sleds. So go harp on somebody else!

One more thing directed at Rockdog. When you stop on the trail with your group, the general rule is to not park side by side around a corner. Then proceed to turn around broadside without looking. I guess common sense is not in your vocabulary. Maybe you should spend less time typing and go take a snowmobile safety course!

I was a little disappointed you left at three-ish. Must of had to run to the computer to post about that "bad camper". I had a gift certificate at Home Depot I was going to give you. You could go buy yourself a ladder and get over it!!!!

Nice well said skidoo eater.I think if the poeple have posted on this thread more than once they may be a PLP (PARKING LOT POSER).I park and ride no time to cry JUST RIDE! RIDE! RIDE! MY .02 OUT!

I'm curious, is parking that bad? heading out this friday with my son for weekend, four place trailer with two sleds, has anyone parked further south towards wycolo?my boy likes trail riding so thought he could get his fill up trail T, then play up top, let me know if dumb idea. Thanks for input

Tired

I wanted to pick and choose my words carefully on this post. I think the photo shows me trying to follow the parking rules. It was definitely my intention. I don’t think that photo is a very strong argument to say that I “don’t practice what I preach”.
I’ve tried to put forth some good ideas and back them with some good arguments (I sincerely thank Hawkeye for acknowledging that in his earlier post). Sometimes I’m pretty bullheaded and stubborn and don’t know when to stop. For that, I do apologize. I’ll continue to be as considerate as I know how when at the lot and hope others will too. Next time I’ll be even more so.
Skidoo eater, if we put your party in danger by an unsafe maneuver, then I apologize. There is never an excuse for that and I will not try to offer one. I only remembered it after you said that. You may have saved me or someone else from serious injury by bringing that to my attention. I’ll definitely think twice next time. I enjoyed your comment about getting back at around three-ish to go home to the computer. Actually dude, I was just dog tired, just like I am of going back and forth on this thread. 190 or so posts ago, I never would have thought it was going to be like this but I couldn’t let it go. So now I am going to take some advice from you, Hawkeye, and 08m8, and “get over it” (I appreciate the Home Depot Gift certificate idea for the ladder. That was very funny). All I really want to do is ride and learn.
Regardless of what you think Hawkeye, I am a pretty friendly person and am not very good at holding grudges. So now that you all know what my rig looks like, feel free to flip me off or stop and say hello. I’d prefer the latter.

As long as you keep an eye on your fuel it shouldn't be a problem. You can park at Tic's.

In response to repair boy. Parking in Albany is great lot. Just park normal. Not an issue. Locals think this is their personal playground. Don't worry about it. Have a good time and ride. Stop in and say hi to the people working at the lodge. Finest people you will ever get to know.
