A little comparison.. Boosted Viper vs Boosted PRO

Yamahajohnson220. Status, Currently: Modifying the Viper. Yamaha profile badge

Care to help me make my point anymore clear?

That statement was so profound and added so much to this thread. Please, enlighten me on your viper mods and why you're doing them.

Holy crap ndc7m8, go get laid and go to bed...and hopefully sleep off the rage. Love how poo guys go into the worst defensive mode when the viper is mentioned with a pro. And yes I have ridden them both back to back for a comparison.

I'm not just a Polaris guy. I'm an original cat guy. And guess what? Now you're a cat guy too. Get back on your crapbox Nytro if you don't wanna be a cat guy

Haha I've never owned a nytro. Thanks for the bad rating to my post, says a lot about you.

What does it say about me? Or is that just a figure of speech you use when you're out of things to say?
If you're the type of guy that gets butthurt over a bad post rating, how can you live with yourself knowing that there's a Yamaha in your garage and someone might see you ride it?

I have to hand to to Cayotegirl for her post. Not because of what she said but because she was able to stir up forum traffic during a poor snow year using an an age old argument that never will have a clear winner because it all based on peoples opinions but always will stir up a heated debate no matter who says it. Until everyone rides a Polaris you cant say its the best sled. same goes for Ski Doo and Arctic Cat and Yamaha. To to each is own.

Odd I've never seen a sled video with all the riders on Vipers, or M1100t in the trees, why do you think they are on different sleds?

Bring your camera and I'll follow you through the trees. There isn't anywhere I can't go with my heavy nytro, but there are places my nytro will go that your 2ST won't. I'll take my Nytro thank you very much. It's my opinion...

I haven't riden a Viper, and they are suppose to handle very well, easier than a nitro, so what's the big deal and why roast on coyote for her opinion. Jshh. Great, she likes her sled! lol

Oh, btw, I do not get paid by Yamaha, nor do I receive any endorsements. lol

Happy riding CoyoteGirl

But, at least Yamaha riders can finally admit the ProClimb chassis is really the best, right?

ndc7m8, Don't be such an ignorant know-it-all.

I own or have owned both sleds in question....have you?

I have no ties to any brand and have owned products from all of them.

I just sold my Pro 163 which I rode for two years. Personally, I think the Pro handled awesome. I just couldn't get over how underpowered it was in the deep. It was great in less demanding snow conditions but those aren't the days I live for. In addition, their reliability is less than stellar and I hated that.

This year I built a 240 HP Viper and I don't miss the Pro at all. The Viper is a much more exhilarating sled. The gap will widen even further next year when I bump it to 270 HP and stretch it to a 174 3"

With that said, If I buy a second sled for my wife and boy...it will be a pro.

Its not just mentioning the viper with the pro, mention you like anything better about any other sled whether it be blue, green, or yellow and watch the d@#$ swinging commence. Yes there are fan boys in every brand but it seems like the poo boys have to try the hardest to justify there purchase or convince others why there purchase is wrong. Got a buddy that bought a '15 terrain dominator and when we go riding that's all we hear about. He even selectively picked who out of the group he let take it for a spin based on who he thought he could get the "right" reaction from. I know its not the way of the world now days but why can't people worry more about there selves instead of what others are doing (or riding) ride whatever makes you happy and forget about what the next guy is on

You should have tried gearing your pro down, different clutching & suspension set ups. I think my pro, set up well, along with my last 2 RMKs handled deep snow rather well. I'm sure a 240hp mod sled handles deep stuff better. I totally agree with you, next year when you remove more factory parts it will be even better. I've never owned a ProClimb chassis but as stated in previous posts, I've ridden them. They're nice, I'm sure that's why Yamaha decided to outsource their snowmobile production to Arctic Cat.

My RMKs have been reliable and I know plenty other guys that have had no issues over a couple seasons or couple thousand miles. Is the amount of money you've dumped into a sled with inferior performance going to outweigh the reliability issues you experienced with your RMK? That's up to you to and your checkbook I guess. The M sleds got better every year, the Pro RMKs got better every year. Yamahas stayed the same every year until the agreement with Cat. Now in the last year of the ProClimb chassis, do you think you're going to see much for innovation from the factory? Yamaha sleds do a huge favor for the aftermarket industry, whereas the newest sleds from the Big 3 are all excellent performers out of the crate. I like only losing a few thousand dollars over the course of sled ownership as well, also a personal decision. High dollar Yamaha OR 1100T cat builds are always going to be the sleds that take the biggest kick in the shorts when it comes to resale/trade value.

Exactly! Shame on coyote girl for saying her outmatched Yammi powered Cat chassis was better than someone else's snowmobile!

Remove head from sphincter, read the thread, Comprehend what you read and then formulate your thoughts into a decent post. SHE DIDNT PURCHASE THE SLED! She's a sponsored Yamaha rider! How are you reading this thread and not getting this? Holy chit.

First off her post stated that she preferred the handling of the yamicat over the pro, not that the yamicat was better than the pro in every way. Yes, being sponsored by Yamaha means that her opinion is most likely biased but does not mean she is not entitled to an opinion at all(unless it is the same as your of course). If you disagree with that opinion and feel it necessary speak your peace and move on, no need to sit here and dwell on this stupid $hit and try to force people into agreeing with your opinion simply because its yours. As to pullin head out of a sphincter, try pullin yours out of polaris' sphincter and put down the poolaid and realize your opinion is no more valid than any one else on here and I don't remember ever stating or implying that coyote girl bought and paid for her yamicat. Not that it matters anyways cuz even if she did buy it out of pocket and made the same comments you'd be on here spouting the same rhetoric.

No. No. NO NO NO NO NO. You still don't get it. This thread is total BS because a sponsored rider thinks their sponsor's sled handles better. If she didn't think it handled better, why would she prefer it? You saying that she didn't mean it was better than the pro really confuses me. Why would someone take the worse of two options? Ohhhhhh yeah, Sponsorship. When you come out to reassure the viewers of your thread that your opinion is totally honest and unbiased even though it's your sponsor's product you're reviewing, you look foolish. If she got on that Pro and didn't ever wanna climb back on a four stroke again and posted that on snowest, how would that look? It's a plug for Yamaha, pure and simple. I'm not saying it's a complete turd, but the sales figures might suggest that. Look at forum traffic. Do comparisons there. Its outright bullcrap and I'm calling her out on it. It's an online forum, I can do that if I want. You can leave the discussion if you don't want to be a part of it

Just a guess, but I think ndC7M8 came out west and got embarrassed on his new Pro in the steep and deep by someone on a 10 year old boosted four stroke.

That's about all that I can guess would cause the kind of reaction he's been exhibiting.

"Yamaha and Arctic Cat suck because I looked stupid and had to go play in the trees instead on the mountain tops."

You might want to put the shovel down and quit digging. Your making a fool of yourself.

Care to explain yourself? Or am I just irritating you because you are Currently: Thinking about a Cataha?

The only 4 stroke that has ever outdone a sled of mine was a full blown EVO mod 1100 Cat. I had absolutely no problem being beaten by 100+ more horsepower on a wide open wind blown set-up slope. Bid deal, I'll gladly play in the trees with ease all day long, the snow is usually fresher there anyway. I've seen plenty of 1100T Cats out west, but I must say, the Yamahas seem to be scarce. I remember seeing a group of big mod yammis being jumpstarted by a Duramax in the Comfort Inn parking lot in West Yellowstone a couple years ago as I rode off on my M8. I don't understand how someone can dismiss my statements by coming in with a hypothetical situation, or no argument at all.

Original point of this thread: A two stroke can wear you out just like a four stroke, stated by a rider sponsored by a struggling division of a company that makes nothing but 4 strokes and continues to lose market share because of their lack of innovation.

It wasn't a review, it was a BS paid advertisement. I think that's stupid

I think people get your point man. Move on. Plus your making other guys on Pro's look like dicks lol...

Seriously people see your point, and I'm with you on the fact a sponsored rider isn't the best person to take sled opinions from but seriously calm down. It looks pretty childish. If you'd like to bash me feel free but I'll be moving on from this topic. Just trying to make sure not everyone thinks Polaris riders are like this guy!

I just have a hard time watching someone say something stupid like at the beginning of this thread for the sake of stirring the pot. Don't expect to not get crap for it I guess. I didn't start it. It could have been worded a lot differently and would have come off as completely harmless. But it wasn't. The way her message was conveyed was for the purpose of reassuring herself that she made the right decisions, not to be a comparison.
