A little comparison.. Boosted Viper vs Boosted PRO

I asked yamahajohnson why he was modding his sled in order to help make my point, that Christopher just made for me by saying you MUST install the optional turbo kit. Big dollar mods for already expensive equipment.

No, Not really.
Yamaha is offering the MPI Kit for $2,000
That is a far cry from what most would consider a BIG DOLLAR mod.
Its just a basic part of the sled, and why they don't just offer it direct from the factory is a topic of much discussion. Perhaps in 10 days they will announce that it is a factory option for next season.

Gee-wiz Chris. I pay to have access to this place. It's the internet. I have an opinion. If you think I'm an a-hole that's great. I think there's a direct correlation there opinions are like azzholes, everybody has one and yours stinks. You started the reliability argument. Not me. You reacted in typical Yamaha fashion and touted your almighty engine longevity when no one was even talking about it.

I disagree on something and offer up a fair argument as to why the viper is inferior to the latest tech from the newest 2 strokes and Im the idiot? This whole thread is based on the unfair comparison of a big HP 2 stoke turbo compared to a mild mod 4 stroke turbo sled. I don't think if I went on the truck forum and said my megacab 1 ton diesel truck handled better in the curves on a road course than a new corvette, that people would sit idly by and let me make that ridiculous statement unchecked.

The only argument your trying to make, or have tried to make through this whole ordeal is that your right and anyone with a differing opinion is wrong.

I don't consider a different a clutch spring or pair of gears much of a "mod" to improve a sled, but if you do, ****k I've got a full blown mod sled.

Also, with your lopsided logic, I can't pass judgement on a chassis that I don't have much time on, but it's ok for this brandy chick to do so? Aaaaaaand then you say I'm contradictory. Maybe you should think a little about what you post before you click that icon down there. I've been factual about the chassis and components that Yamaha has installed in it in order to brand it theirs. I get a little long-winded but I truly like picking apart poorly thought out posts by folks like you. You just said I was the village idiot for what I said, then proceeded to act the same way. Aren't you just the pot calling the kettle black?

Ha! You kill me.

I was wrong. You're not coming off as the village idiot. We misunderstood what you were trying to say.

Arguing with ndc7m8 who is 25 years old is like arguing with my 6year old triplets. In the end, a good old fashioned spanking straightens them right up. And yes they love their yamacat 120.

Where the hell did the person holding the stirring spoon go anyway? Still have yet to hear back from the infallible, honest, unbiased Factory Sponsored Rider.

Some of you guys are just a ball of fun. Swoop in with what you think is a clever one liner to shut me up and fail miserably. The majority of the trash talking has been about me, not the sled, but Im just a know it all berating everyone who dares to reply. Yep. Funny how that works out so favorably for some of you.

So comments like these are welcome here on SnoWest but talking about snowmobiles is an extremely touchy subject for some. I'll try to tip toe around any sled related topic from now on. Maybe we can have a new sub forum under fouled plug for child abuse and incestual azz-play with a minor to fill our time :face-icon-small-win

The thing is... he isn't wrong. He might be a little harsh and perhaps over-the-top, but there aren't exactly a ton of people here denying what he is saying.

I stopped counting at 3 yamaha guys who proved his point about modding the sled while trying to somehow tell him he is wrong. I mean I won't lie it is kinda funny seeing the logic being thrown at him while his comparison to going into the truck section to say his truck corners better than a vette is spot on.

Are you willing to admit to me that the opinion a dodge truck will corner better than a vette is right? If so, you might be a little biased and it is time to take the blinders off :face-icon-small-win

ndC7M8,
I guess I'm not sure if you are aware of this "Sponsored Rider" but until this year, she has ridden for Polaris, and was one he!! of a rider on them. If you look back at her first post from her first ride on the YamaCat, the impression I was left with was that she was second guessing her decision on switching brands. Also, with her updating us, I feel that the chassis is growing on her, and she is able to do things on this sled that she couldn't before but could on her Pro. I will be the first to say, a Pro will ride easier and better than the new Viper. I have ridden them both, along with my Nytro that I have way too much time and money into and still isn't boosted. I prefer my Nytro, not only for the time I have into it, but because I'm comfortable on it and can take it places I simply couldn't do on any other sled.

Now, as far as not trusting a sponsored riders words, explain to me why, when the new Axys RMK was released, many people that posted kept mentioning Burandts and Curtis's words, and haven't even ridden it yet? When Doo first released the XM, Norona would post videos on it, of him riding, and what he thought of it. I have yet to see somebody go to either of them and trash talk the way you are, yes I'm calling you out. I like reading these reviews, mostly because the "Pro" riders are on the mountain in all conditions everyday they can. The fact that Ms. Floyd rode for Polaris helps justify her post.

I don't care what you ride. Nor should it matter what I ride. I would rather argue about whether or not you support your local club or association, and whether you have the right to complain about land closure. There's bigger things to worry about in the world of snowmobiling than a sponsored rider "trash talking" the sled you ride. Get over it. Grow up.

Hilarious reading here! Brandy's post had some honesty as she suggested it could have been due to poor set up on the pro or lack of seat time or that her Yam had less HP and more weight.
The truth is that a turboed 2 stroke with that much HP that is not set up well and exhibits the on off power delivery would wear most of us out quickly in technical terrain. IE: Not a well set up sled, I have ridden turboed 2 strokes with excess lag and they suck, could ride my wife's bone stock 600 Pro where I could not the poorly set up turbo....not even close.
So, her comments really had no relevance and were just an observation that were probably true. A poorly set up 2 stroke turbo will wear you out, I have to agree. She did not bash Pro's, in her opinion this 230hp 2 stroke Pro was on-off power delivery and wore her out quicker. I am sure she knows that a well set up Pro is much easier to ride in steep technical terrain that the sled she is being paid to ride, Brandy has not insulted our intelligence by suggesting that.

Okay, and if this is true why bother create a thread about something irrelevant? I agreed with your sentiment in my first post regardless, but obviously there was a point to this thread otherwise we wouldn't have 4 pages of hilarious responses. I mean it is cool if she is contractually obligated to make so many statements about the sled a month, but perhaps she should stick to the positives from now on instead of bashing on a poorly set up sled lmao.

I know she rode a Polaris. I've been on this forum for a long time, since before the big format change, and rejoined in 08 as ndC7M8. I was perfectly aware of it, adding to my frustration over a statement that a 2 stroker is as tiring as a big 4.

Solarguy makes a very good point here^^ but I think now everyone seems to be more interested in name-calling and taking shots at me than comparing these sleds and being realistic about the work and money it takes to make them truly comparable.

Its a shame you can't read.
Its a skill that seems to be going out of style these days.
I commented on the letters I am getting from other members complaining about people like you being so dang HOSTILE. Never said nor called you an Idiot, though others have.:face-icon-small-hap

Here is a new avatar for you.

If you go back and read my earlier comments I stated a few times that people agreed with his logic on the sponsored rider part. I simply also stated that no matter who buys her sleds she is still entitled to her opinion whether or not he agrees. I pretty much said the same thing a couple times and was trying to be somewhat of an adult about it but then he started with the pull your head out of your a$$ comments and that is where I said F this immature poolaid drinkin mofo.

As to the dodge truck comment, ya your right there might be some bias there but I'm a Chevy guy so it will probably lean the opposite way of what your thinkin.

I can read just fine. But, apparently for you, I need to be more thorough in my responses for you to comprehend them. I addressed you referring to me as in a-hole in the first part. In the next paragraph, as most junior high school level readers would understand as the start of a new topic, I addressed those that called me an idiot or village idiot. I like how you reinforce my statements every time you reply Christopher. You think you're mighty clever over there don't ya Chris.

Not really Luke, not really.
This discussion doesn't require clever.
It just requires ENDURANCE..
Longsuffering
and a high tolerance for hate and anger.

You guys have taken it there, I have to admit. Must be getting a little twisted up over there over this topic, you took my sliver on anonymity away from me mr. Big bad moderator. You're making this sound like you're trying to survive the holocaust.
