25 Boost - Belt Slip Issues

I see the exact same thing on the clutches we get in to lighten and balance....pretty much all the P22 have belt marks, black slipping marks....Notice on 3rd picture the belt is not going to the top of the clutch, if you take apart the secondary it is the same from the bottom to the belt wear....lots of track speed loss...many aftermarket clutching make weights wit more TIP weight to make the clutch squeeze harder, the stock weight have very little tip weight because of the limited room with the roller bearing..Also the P22 weights are shorter than P85 weights, thus less tip weight. I do se some (not many) that are full shift, but most have black belt wear on the sheaves...when the belt slips it creates heat, thus it only get worst the hotter it gets...Maybe a gearing change could help?
If they didn't package for more tip weight it is a design of the clutch and not the bearing itself being present. They could move the cam arms out further when designing the clutch but chose not to. Moving them out would mean less weight overall needed, but then open up the design to allow for more tip weight.

I experienced the same thing on my 25 Boost last Sunday in similar snow conditions around Tabernash. It's simply the belt getting wet from snow coming through all the openings in the hood. I had taped the clutch side vents on my 22 boost and didn't have the same issue. Kesterke has a video that shows all the "free" mods he does to his new matryx sleds and he cuts black duct tape to size of vent and then tapes over it to close up the vents. Also removes foam from panels and uses silicone to help strengthen/bond the new two side panel piece design.

I taped up my vents Monday and do not thing I will experience issue again. Also plan on installing BBA clutch kit

One thing I noticed on the 25 is that Polaris "filled" in the rearward most small vent that was directly over the clutch cover on the new side panels but left the other opening on the top of the side panel open... so clearly they know it is an issue. I taped up the top vent on side panel and both clutch side vents on the hood.

Dealer offered to pull the clutches off and look at for free. No issues.

what is baffling to me is how two dealers, including one right next to the riding area, are seemingly unaware of this major issue that polaris’s own ambassadors promote fixes for. could have saved me some frustration with just a bit of the knowledge gained here

Dealers never pay attention to anything but polaris factory information releases.

It's kind of silly.

Myself and my brother talk to the service manager and educate him usually. (He's legit)

But that's just our dealer.

that would help the issue for sure...the weight for the P22 is shorter, little less than a 1/8, than a P85 weight as well...there is room to move the pin location out on the P22...Yes that would help!!

You would be surprized at how many dealers or their mechanics dont ride or get much seat time, fortunately my dealer is rider when he can and used to race/hillclimb so he has an idea about what he sells. The local Doo dealer has never been a rider nor his mechanics so they dont have a clue, he got the doo dealership for their reputation across all the outdoor segments
