Tom, did you have any cylinder head temp. gauges on any sleds that burned a piston? Do you think they would help spot a melt-down before it happened completely? I'm thinking about getting the CHT sensors that go under the spark plug.

my exhaust is insulated about a foot downstream of the y pipe halfway back to the can, the front half of the pipe in the nose of the sled. also, i have a shield between the can and the fan with a shelf that alows me to mount brackets for a spare belt.
I've been loyal to Polaris for 20 years now. This is the biggest debacle and lie this company has ever produced.
Just got a fax from Polaris along with other things this stuff was on it 550 snowmobile kit #'s
2203897 Nicasil cylinder upgrade
2203890 Fuel pump relocation kit
2203829 Edge hood fan duct with oil pump bleeder
Me too. That's why I bought 'em and (originally) advocated for them and the brand, for our resort. Mistake noted, lesson learned.Damn, I thought this was a proven performer…

I'm so mad at these sleds right now...and even more so at Poo for ignoring, denying, making excuses/stories...basically not "manning up" to the problems they've handily engineered into these particular sleds. Poor, poor service.
They should be handing out bleeder kits, ducting kits, and piston kits. Instead, they make you buy sht to fix their engineering epic failures.
Tom,
I recall you had a thread about the declining durability of the Polaris fanners a couple years ago...?
Was going to ask you what support you've got from Polaris and your dealer, but sounds like they're just telling you to go f&ck yourself...?
No wonder that you're furious, if it was me I would contact the Better business bureau etc + look for a good "consumer case" lawyer...
