850E-TEC Turbo R most common issues & troubleshoot

I had speed limit show up on my 24 165 X but it came along with an engine light, poor running sled and a whole bunch of codes. Turned out to be a MAP sensor. I was told the voltage regulators (ECM)have been an issue this year also causing some problem’s.

Had this **** last year too, but at 125kmh. They programmed it away, and everything was ok until now. No codes in my ecm, no motorlight in display, just speed limit.

Somebody still get "speed limit" on display on 146 turbo r? Flashing on my display around 140kmh/88mph. Dealer dont see anything wrong when they connect it to computer.
I believe early last year the limit was 65 mph and they reprogrammed to 85 mph limit. I also think the 65 mph limit shut down power but the new limit is just a warning.

One thing I had on my sled was the bolt for the airbox sensor backed out and sensor was loose in there it ran like crap and would not build boost . There’s some kinda thread locker on the screw but it still backed out a real bugger to get at also .

There is a speed limit now on 2024 deep snow sleds and it has been also added to 2023 flashes if your sled has been updated. Your dealer should be able to remove it with buds. But its there that people would not wreck their tracks by going too fast on hard pack or trails.
Have some friends with same sled as me. They dont have speed limiter. Had sled connected to buds, no updates, no codes and they could not adjust anything there. Strange some have this and some not, all sleds are stock.

Adding to this thread some personal experience, facts.

Have a:
* 2020 NA Expert. Same plugs, same belt. 3,000 miles, no issues.
* 2023 Turbo Freedride, second belt, 1,500 miles, will only reach 7,500 rpm, trying plugs next.
* 2024 NA Expert, 250 miles, only hits 7,500 rpm, replaced plugs, didn't fix the problem. Troubleshooting continues.

My new sleds spend most of the season in the shop being repaired, while the 2020 is just rock solid and just goes. Certainly my limited data concludes the quality of the newer sleds has gone down.

I would start with rave actuator swap, I think it has been the most common issue so far both on turbo and n.a.

Definitely try the rave actuator or cable. I’ve gone through two this month. 7300-7500 is a very tell tale sign. I don’t know how to on the big screen but on the small screen if you go to settings then codes you will probably see a code P1477,
p1475 p1473 or p1470.

The first time I had the issue no light but the second time I did have a light. Like I said it’s super easy to find the codes on the small screen and I’m sure it’s not to hard on the big one. Also I’ve had a low idle that sounds pretty bad.

Start it up and hit the lower button on the left side of the gauge until you find “settings”. When you find settings hold the lower button. Then press the the lower button until you find “codes”. Then hold the codes button and they will show. If you get into settings but can’t find “codes” then you don’t have any.

3 rave actuators in 170 miles now sled hasn’t ran very well in 5 weeks with a load of electrical problems. I know a handful on skidoo hillclimb racers that have ditched the 24’s. I might but my first Polaris ever this week. The actuator is now back ordered till April.

Polaris has their own issues. Not necessarily going to win but i get it.

My buddy traded his 23 on a 24 because he wanted the big gauge his 24 is the biggest pos I’ve ever seen not sure if he just got a lemon or what

My 24 has had some electrical issues also that my 23 never had. They been resolved but it definitely feels like I am riding a ticking time bomb where the 23 I never had that feeling.
