427 hp 1200 4tec (on day one)

Without nos who has a kit that makes
more than 300? And are you guys realistically saying nytro don't have boosted headgasket problems? Better call dave at powderlites then cuz he's wasting alot of time and money getting his new lockring wire headgasket into production. The highest dyno numbers I've seen yet was 283. And I've seen alot of blown up nytro this year due to headgaskets past 18.

Paul from Impulse has a Nytro that he runs 20 psi on day in day out with a gt2871r. He is probably about 350 hp at that mark. I've seen him pretty much destroy any Apex he has raced against, including mine. I've rode with several boosted Nytro's this year running 18+ psi and no head gasket problems. Head gasket problem on any Nytro or Apex = poor tuning and/or improper torque procedures.

from what I have seen the head gasket problem is because of the head shim not sealing properly and yes I have talked to Dave, thats the reason I went with 3 stock head gaskets instead of a shim, that was an easy fix, Paul from Impulse as been running 18-23 lbs all year with no problems as will, That was Daves first question when I told him what boost I was running, I had the same problems with the trx with a head shim, went to lc pistons and stock gaskets and no more problems, I personaly have not had any problems and no body I have talked to has had a problem all year, alot of times its operator error not the machine, if set up properly the nytro is as dependable and will run as will as anything else out there. one of the problems is everybody wants to run high boost on pump fuel, so they put a head shim in and think they are good to go. tetonation will cause head gasket problems as will. too much boost and not enough octane is usaully the problem, lower compression with good gaskets or lc pistons and run race fuel. I ran good fuel even on lower boost, it cost money to go fast and it cost more money if you cut corners. I don,t know where you ride or who you ride with but if you want to see some good dependable running nytros just come out to nevada and utah and we can show you how they should run. as you should have figured out by now there are enough of us on here that know the truth so why waste your breath trying to convince us other wise.

Head gasket issue ?

I ve been running a boosted Nytro all season and this is the first I have ever read or heard about a head gasket issue. If ski doo can make a motor that can handle boost I say great, now all they need to do is beef up the chassis and drivetrain to handle the power. If the drive shafts, clutchs', and belts cant handle 150 hp whats going to happen with 300 hp. Also as far as blowing belts I have only blown one belt in 1300 miles, and that was because the plastic was loose and snow was sparying on it.

I guess Mike Irmen and the boys with boosted Nytro's just imagined themselves pulling some of the craziest shoot ever. Shoots that have never been climbed before, not even on their Apex's. They must have photoshoped all those pictures and with the magic of editing, pulled them with ease.

Thats funny you make sound like mike did it on his nytro cuz the apex didn't have enough power. I know something else mike irman did that was change his blown headgasket on his nytro after the bdso jason earl blew his there too.

The way I understand the nytro head gasket issue is that the head is not true and when it comes off for the shim fat bar it if it needs a surface do it. and check the block for the same and then its all good who realy cares if your nytro only makes 283 hp thats about 100 more than 90% of us need anyway. The Apex/rx1 has had years to work out the bugs the nytro has had one I think it is doing quite well:D I know I like mine

Paul from Impulse didn,t have any problems and his sled won, I seen alot of ski-doos pulled out this year but I never say one nytro on a rope.

actually I have never had a head gasket problem with my nitro better check your source on that one. I put in the L/C pistons rite off the bat and was running 20lbs all winter and more once I got the injectors from paul at impulse. Earl has blown his head gasket, but stock comp with 17 lbs will do that. hahaha went real fast though, and the response was wicked! LOL

I for one am real glad to see skidoo with a solid(hopefully) contender for the T'yamahas. Time will tell how it works as far as relibility goes but I cant wait to run into some in the mountains. Remember folks competition is better for all of us who ride sleds, it will improve the products we buy. Not only that it gives all of us another choice of what color to ride.

Oh ya one more thing, dynos dont mean sh!t when it comes to riding in the mountains. Good tool sure, better selling feature you betcha! Cant wait to throw a leg over one of the doo's with a mcx kit on it, they are gona rip!

this is cool! but imagine what the yamaha guys could have done with the RX1 if they knew what they know now! it is amazing what advancment in technology has to do with power. yeah ski-doo has a powerfull machine , with boost. but when the japs decide to go the next step, watch out. I will have to get a new job, because you will buy a machine that meets what I try to build now. lol! big john you staetd day one, but if the tech of the RX! day one was put opn the 1200, would it produce any more than the RX!?

on a side note?

What if we just pushed all of them futher? what kind of power would you see? scares me!

lol!!!

This motor sounds awesome...It's cool to see the technology grow. Light and stupid fast...nice combination. If this thing goes 4027 without shooting a rod, it'll go 325-350 all year without blinking. And having a stocker that runs 350 is pretty cool stuff. Some of you guys need to stop being such puzzies...your sleds are nice but they will get taken over...and be glad they do, else the technology is not evolving.

LMAO, this got good! Like i said before in my first post, im glad they(BRp) is stepping up in the 4 stroke boost game, is gonna be nice to have options instead of just yamaha in the fourstroke segment. Should be a good year for sure and look forward to hearing good things about skidoo and its boosted future. Thanks for stirring the pot 1500, you made it a hell of a laugh :D

Guys I might not be on track here but I am told that this engine is the same or very similar to BRPs water craft engine . I have seen a few clips of that set-up turboed to 400 hp they claimed. I think BRP is gunnin for Yamaha due to the great succes they are having , shifting the market, SDI direct injection whatever no life with those BRP knew they had to doo something. Rumor has it a late season release will come this year bringing back the Mach-Z with a factory supercharged package. That would be very cool.

I have no doubt they will make that kind of hp. and I think its great that we are getting some competition, the only reason I responded to this post was to point out the false statements made about the nytro,s reliability and performance potential.

Heck i'm just glad they made a 4 stroke........can hardly wait to hear their marketing spin on 2 versus 4 stroke!!:p

Boost on:beer;
RS

ok seen the dyno tech test on the 1200 doo turbo. makes 317.8hp at 7700rpm and 326.3 at 8400 at 14lb of boost. and 417.1 at 8700rpm at 21lbs.....so 14lb should be non race gas safe!!!!!!!

4 stroke yammi contenders

Out of all the 4strokes going up against the Yammi, I think the Cats 4stroker is certainly more inviting.
1. The only closed loop efi system used in a snowmobile! the closed loop if perfected could literally take the worries and hassles out of all fuel tuning...set you A/F ratio and the computer maintains the ratio at any throttle. (perfection)
2. boosted at 5lbs at 177hp!
3. Suzuki technology.....second only to yamaha.

This one is the one to watch.......until then.....the TAPEX is king 4 me.

and the bashing begins!!!!!:eek::eek:

cant say im suprized, gee post something like this in the yammi section what did john think was gunna happen:rolleyes:

Lets go post "my yammi turbo is under 400lbs" in the doo section and see what happens.

PASS THE POPCORN! :D
